This looks great and I realize this is a year old. But I am about to start this setup tomorrow and I was wondering if you ran into any issues? Currently my A1200 1D4 is setup in the Elbox tower with pistorm32 (also a rpi 3a) with an indivision flickerfixer. I was wondering if i need to make changes before putting the mediator on

Keep installation target CPU without MMU, it should work as is.

in theory the unstable operation can be solved with careful and cautious cleaning of the card connectors and the Mediator's logical board's socketed ICs. I haven't tried that yet, as I'm still waiting for a scandoubler which goes onto the mobo directly, and I don't want to dismantle two times my config completely, but maybe you should try that, my friend reported that as a fully working solution. It seems that this config is very sensitive about the cards' connections.

Once upon a time I would have been ecstatic to hear my A1200 playing MP3 files when I only had a "fastram" expansion. 😀 My Blizzard 50Mhz '030 with FPU could barely manage it, and even my full fat, 33Mhz '040 struggled with anything approaching reasonable quality. Nowadays I just emulate one on a ten year old PC, and get an "Amiga" faster than any real Amiga or Vampire hardware. Time hasn't been kind to our once might Amigas. 😢

If memory serves me correctly, I think my A1200 060/50 back in the day even struggled for "high" quality MP3. A Pentium166mmx (Win95) I had at the same time could play a 128kbs MP3 no problem but it took a big hit on the CPU. But when it came to multitasking my 060/50 blew the doors off my Pentium166, it was only pure number crunching and compression where the P166 was better, so .zip .rar .mp3 .jpg or anything involving any type of compression but as an OS the Amiga dominates at the time.

QuarkTex uses uaegfx and you need an FPU, otherwise it does not matter much. I haven't yet tested with any legacy hardware which has a real 3D accelerator. Software render is slow even on WinUAE.

Hi please can you help.. I have full mediator setup with voodoo3000 and i am using a ppc 040@175mhz which has never given me good speed for the quake game which i bought original on cd for amiga..Now i have pistorm lite i was hoping to swap out the 040 and replace with pistorm lite. Amigakit has setup the sd card etc.. for me so can i just fit the pistorm and boot? The ide hard drive in the amiga is all partitioned and setup. My roms are 3.2.1 and i have latest update from hyperion... I don't want to be starting with installation of mediator,picasso and 3.2.1 all over again....

It already had better graphics than Doom, with 3D weapons, better textures and lighting effects, but was terribly slow when originally released, even on 68030/50Mhz with 18MB RAM. Wish, they made the turbo patch back in these days …

Its just all these boomers are ape shit about these systems and make them so expensive for any parts or systems to buy. Thank god for the pistorm series through, its the omly thing ive ever seen thats reasonably priced. Its also very good to destroy the market of now slower vampire cards. I hope this keeps going with open hardware stuff to weed out these hardware scalpers.

Can someone.please explain when using a PI accelerator ( which one doesnt matter ) , how about to use the ports like HDMI, USB, ETHERNET? , is there a board like the omniport for the Pi, or do we need to beeing creative again and use rare methods?

To use HDMI you need Picasso96 drivers (emu68-vc4.card) on AmigaOS, then HDMI will act like a RTG board on the Amiga. USB and Ethernet are not supported yet with the Emu68. michalsc.github.io/Emu68/Options.html

There is something strange, PPC version reach 24+ fps with mediator TX + V3 3000. ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3TWaGyPbK2airs ) . You have way more MIPS so... Is Pistorm32 bus access not optimum ?

Hello, I have preordered the Pistorm 32 lite for my towerized ReA1200, I have the mediator (v1.0) with Voodoo 3 2000 PCI but also have the ATI Radeon 9250, sound card is Sound blaster CT4750, can I do the same like yours? What benefits does this setup have? I am asking cause I was gonna sell the mediator board. Forgot to mention that I have had the Apollo 1260 80mhz with this setup. The tower is a Micronik infinitiv. Tnks!

Later on PiStorm32Lite will have a networking and audio (AHI) over HDMI. RTG works already over HDMI. They will be much faster than cards in PCI slots. Probably if one day we will have MMU we can try Killer card for PPC, but even it would work it's not that good with Mediator 1200XT. Only case where Mediator makes sense is that if you like to use PiStorm32Lite as CPU replasement only and keep using PCI cards (which is also fun but slow).

What year is imprinted on your Mediator TX, mine is 2018. FYI my config besides warp3d is running very stable, but you know the last thing would be to get warp3d working :D

@@neocdtv Not sure if he have drop support of Mediator PCI 1200 TX from the latest sonnet library, try older lib versions. A1200 needs MMU to map memory area for the Killer and it does not work well. Many games and apps fails to work, or works only partially.

That’s impressive, I have exactly the same setup as you but a TF1260 with full 060 overclocked @100 and gears demo is super slow compared to your demo with the Pistorm32 lite. I can’t wait to upgrade to one of them soon.

Cool! Could you try running the game with an .iso disc image mounted rather than the CD-Rom itself? I don't expect the music will work but it would be good if we could get the game to run!

@@simo.koivukoski I have found another SCSI controller to run CD-Roms while also using a PiStorm32 (I haven't got one yet)! I will hopefully post a video after testing it all using the .iso/the real game CD-Rom!
