Oh, my goodness. I have struggled with this for years. I finally wised up and consulted The Great and Powerful KZbin and found your video. What a simple solution, but one I just never thought of. Thank you so much for sharing this tip.

Paint should always be slightly thinned and filtered before storing it again. Paint should always be stored in a airtight container just big enough for the amount of paint. Why do you twist the screwdriver but not the can opener? Also always transfer leftover paint with a cheap paper paint filter from the paint shop.

Nice job with the video and the belt sander works well but can take off a bit too much wood - leaving a bit of a dip no matter how little you want to take off. Unfortunately, the belt sander tends to also sand the finished boards around it that don't need to be sanded or re-stained. If you have the replacement board cut the way you want it, then stain it (and possibly polyurethane it) to get the color and look the customer wants - before nailing and installing it. That way, matching color is preordained, because if it's not exactly how it would look best, you haven't nailed it in place for posterity (or needs to redone it because wifey is unhappy). It can be challenging to make patchwork look just like the original old flooring.

I love seeing pella wood windows from then. Always rotted out and need replaced. Money money money! And Pella won't do crap to honor their warranty. And people think pella is good lol.

If buying a home in a state like Iowa where the ENTIRE STATE has homes with high radon levels, perhaps its best to Plan to test AND get the radon mitigation system installed...Basically the test is for where to place the system in the basement..You need the system regardless.
