Thanks very much. I hadn't played the bass for a good while but decided to give it a go again. I still struggle a bit with the big frets.

@charityshopguitar8790 Well, keep practising, and you'll get the hang of it. I am a guitarist, and I agree with you, the frets are too big on the bass!😂

Well played mate. That's a beautiful instrument. Does it have 11 strings? I have never seen one before. I am assuming the 11th string is like a bass string for creating the beat sort of thing. I've been playing the guitar since I was 16 but I've never improved past novice lol.
@user-vz1wk1oi4s3 ай бұрын
yes it has 11 strings and the base string is used as a base the instrument is the ancestor to the guitar and is called the Oud. Also the lute comes from the word al oud which became lute when it was translated into several european lnaguages from spanish to the oresent day!!

I have got several of those but don't use them all the time at the moment. In general I think a reesha is better as you have a better grip on it than a normal pick.

@@charityshopguitar8790 thank you. I like to see what others get from guitar compatible maqamat, I use western harmony for modal progressions which would outline home and character chords or dyads in a rhythmical riff and then jam over it starting and finishing phrases on homechord's tones and then character tones through out the whole progression, so by using a modal progression, I dont have to follow the chord changes, which helps me to shred the scales

hello, great to see someone enjoying playing ET compatible makamat. Nahawand murassah, second mode of Shawq Afza/harmonic major. there are great sounding maqamat in the harmonic major scale, the fifth mode, the maqam zanjaran/mixolydian flat2 and the third mode the maqam saba zamzam/phrygian flat4. and the fourth mode, the lydian flat3 mode. I have some of that on my channel.
