Ill be honest that sounds awful on guitar, but a trick is, if an overdrive sounds awful on guitar it will sound amazing on bass

You don't need an amp to start with electric, your family will have more patience with you if you play electric unplugged than if you are learning on acoustic.

+@roywarriner8441 That's a great point & I'm totally on board with it. A total beginner amplified is a challenging sound to ignore! But I do think there comes a time when you need to hear the guitar amplified with gain / effects, etc, to make the right sound. Also, without an amp, beginners can fret & pluck/strum too hard & miss subtitles in their playing. My family hate me playing in the same room as them, even without an amp. My wife describes it as "twang, twang, twang!" Maybe I need a new family? 😉

@GuitarsAreHard
@GuitarsAreHard 18 күн бұрын
+@drno2141 I know it sounds like tuning, but it's not. I can assure you that the guitar was in tune. It was a weird pitch shift / clipping distortion caused by capturing the guitar sound from a cheap USB condenser mic, then trying to amplify the sound in my video editing software. I know how awful it sounds. I've since invested in a guitar interface & dynamic XLR mic setup. You'll hear the immense difference in my next video 🤞

+@fernandoperdomomusic OMG! You're so right! I didn't spot that! I wonder if the Jet Kings were the styling inspiration? I have no idea if they sound similar though, especially as the JK 3 & 4 have P90's & not humbuckers. I do remember the two different humbuckers on the 1 & 2 being described as 'warm' & 'vintage', though. Was the 4 the only one with a vibrato arm? Huge price difference, though! Keep watching, my next unboxing is another offset.

I found an undocumented feature today - coil taps! It's subtle and doesn't sound like a SC pickup, but it does give an option sound wise. The bridge is so hot that it still sounds fierce.

Oh wow, I bow down to your superior knowledge sir! I think the Charger may be more of an upgraded model rather than just a re-branding though. Some of its features / hardware might be upgraded - locking tuners, set neck, 7 ply binding, bone nut, coil splits, roasted maple neck, 'fatter' neck shape, pearloid inlays, leather strap - but I do take your point entirely, they're almost identical. The Rogue also looks awesome, especially for the price and KZbinrs seem to love it. Do you have any experience of it? Weirdly, the only Sub Zero kit I own is a brilliant little practice headphone amp which was a secret santa gift years ago.

I had the problem with views not being counted a few weeks ago. I wasn't hacked, but it was after a KZbin update. It took 3 days before views were counted again. The result was KZbin stopped pushing my videos out and I went from over 1k views per video to under 400 views per video. I haemmoraged subs too. I have never bought ads or subs or likes, so I don't understand it.
@GuitarsAreHard

I'm sure you're spot on. Later that Friday my views, and to some extent, my watch hours rallied, but still not back to recent highs. My reach suffered, like yours. My subs and income are on the floor, with subs hovering around zero, +/- about 4. My income is pennies. The algorithm update seems to have permanently hamstrung my channel, at this rate I've no idea how to get growth going again. I'm praying for something to go viral! It seems I just had two things negatively impact my channel at the same time. We seem to have the about the same views count, which means that your subs are 10 x more engaged than mine are, per capita. At this rate I may have to look into ads, but I don't understand the Google Ads set up process either. It looks like you needs a degree in marketing... Anyway, see what you think of my next video - it's a review of a brilliant budget guitar. Right up your street?

I am also the victim of financial fraud with substantial amounts currently charged to my accounts. This KZbin account may even be suspended or removed during this period. Comments, likes and views, and my ability to view and reply to comments may be restricted during this time. Playing guitar is great, but changing strings is a largely unnecessary pain, righ? Does it even make a difference? Surely strings are made of metal and last years, right? Plus the gauge of strings doesn't make a difference, right? I'm going to be challenging all of these beliefs in this video. I'll be playing the same the same riffs and solos on two different guitars. I will then change the strings on each guitar, putting a difference gauge of strings on each, then I'll play the same pieces of music again to see if we can hear a difference. Do you think it will do anything? Simply, watch to find out! What do you think of the video? Please let me know in the comments. Also, ask me any questions there. What do you think of these strings?

I recently got hold of another Steinberger Spirit GT-Pro, except it has the S-S-H layout. It's from 2010. Great guitar, very comfortable to play. Though I've gutted the electronics and replaced them with a single Seymour Duncan Humbucker and 1 volume. The stock humbucker was alright but the singles weren't great at all. I purchased my first Steinberger back in 2014, with the S-S-H. Did the same mod back then, except with a Dimarzio X2N in the bridge 🙂 They've both always stayed in tune much better than my regular guitars. Do you still have the one in this video? Cheers!
@GuitarsAreHard

That's pretty cool. I've only ever seen the Synapse with 2 x EMG humbuckers on the 2010 guitar. Even on the modern one, the single coil is a waste of space & I never use it. How hard was the routing? What is it like with the SD's? Can I be really cheeky & ask what you paid for it? That bridge keeps them in tune forever! Have you gigged it? I still have mine. I took it on holiday in the summer. Great guitar. My only complaint is that the pickups feel too close to the strings, but that's just me being weird...
@charleslord2941
@charleslord2941 2 ай бұрын
@@GuitarsAreHard Thank you! Yes I believe the Synapse Guitar models only came with 2x EMG humbuckers (or 1x for the Synapse Basses) Yeah, before gutting out my current one. I found the middle to be REALLY quiet & the neck to be very bland and undefined. As you can't really adjust the height of them, for me the middle got in the way of my picking. I didn't rout anything, just removed all electronics and re-installed 1 volume pot & 1 humbucker. I did have a Steinberger Spirit 5 string bass earlier this year. I did slightly rout the bridge rout to fit an EMG pickup, wasn't particularly difficult. Pay wise; for my previous one I had in 2014 & my current one I paid around the £300 mark for both. So nearing discounted brand new retail prices really. I think that's pretty much the going rate for 2nd hand Steinberger Spirit Guitars. Gig wise; Between 2014 - 2016 I had recorded an entire album with just that guitar, taken it with me to plenty of rehearsals and performed one show with it. Never had an issue. My current one has yet to left the house. I'll be recording an album with it soon though. Glad to hear you still have yours and it has worked out well for you. The humbuckers can be adjusted so that shouldn't be a problem. The middle can't really. Is it the middle that's the problem? Cheers!

Hello again, sorry you asked about the SD. I decided to go with a Seymour Duncan Jazz Bridge Humbucker. So far I quite like it. It lacks a lot in the low-end department but has a lot in the way of treble. Though because of that I do have work on the EQ a bit more for when I palm-mute. In my original I had a Dimarzio X2N. VERY high output humbucker. It's rather full on when distorted and the tone can be become rather 'sizzle' like. Of course, your mileage may vary if you decided to change pickups 😃 Lastly, you said about getting a bass to match? I'd recommend avoiding the 5 string Steinberger Spirit basses. In my experience the low B string wasn't that great. The regular 4 strings sounded perfectly fine! All the best!
