Are these software (virtural hardware) graphics outputs. Ie display adapter rather than a gpu based output. ie 2d only, so will it display Opengl Opencl programs. I take it this adpaters have no memory and use the main computer memory and main computer to raster the image frames etc. ? As I be finding deferent brand models give very differennt results and we need review compares on these adapters. I find they are ok for docking a laptop in Office environment or use of a projector, but for home use a mixed bag, as usb3C just can not handle the data, USB4 and Thunderbolt can handle external GPu cards. But you still better off to use PCIe mini by M2 type adapters etc. Or a laptop with a real docking port.

Unfortunately, no. The UD-3900C4 requires a video signal via USB-C be supported by the host laptop. That said, we do have a device, the USBC-768H4 that will run four additional displays at 1920x1080. We hope this helps!

@Plugable11 күн бұрын
Hi there, We're sorry to hear about the transfer speeds. This can be attributed to using a USB 3.0 cable on a USB 2.0 controller, which would limit speeds. However, this likely isn't the only reason you are seeing this performance. Real-world speeds can also be impacted by the number of files being sent and their size; background processes that are running simultaneously can lead to reduced transfer speeds, or even outdated drivers or power management settings. If you get the opportunity please test out the transfer cable on a couple USB 3.0 hosts and if you get similar results please reach out to us directly as their may be something wrong with the physical cable. --> [email protected]

A few power reset and not even 5V 100mA to keep the device alive
@Plugable12 күн бұрын
The PS-10CC charger will renegotiate the priority charging as power becomes available while charging devices in order left to right. So it is expected to see the power "reset" (renegotiate) potentially several times depending on the type and number of devices attached. The charger does not continuously output power to all devices. As devices complete charging and the charger moves to the next port(s) inline that is to be charged, the previously charged ports go into standby for PD devices or are turned off completely for legacy non-PD devices.

Will it be able to charge my laptop from the docking station?
@Plugable16 күн бұрын
Thank you for contacting Plugable! To clarify, Plugable USB 3.0 docks (such as the UD-3900) and USB switches do not charge the host computer, as USB 3.0 ports are not designed to take in charging power. No USB 3.0 (Type-A) dock (Plugable or otherwise) can charge the connected laptop. Thank you for giving us the chance to help! Ryoma Plugable Technologies www.plugable.com/support

Why would anyone buy a "portable" computer that needs not-easily-portable accessories (including a blu-ray drive) in order to get anything done?
@SansUTx19 күн бұрын
For those who follow the directions but it keeps changing all of your monitors regardless whether you pick Desktop 1 or 2, this is due to you having multiple desktops set up, which results in the options of Desktop 1 or Desktop 2 instead of the monitor numbers. To fix this, hover over the Desktops icon in your task bar and ensure you only have ONE desktop open. If you have 2 or more, all of the monitors will change regardless of which monitor you pick for whatever image. Hope this helps!

Will the dual screen mirror or extend once MBP 2017 is clamshell (closed)?
@Plugable19 күн бұрын
Thanks for asking! The 2017 MacBook Pro models each support dual displays over Thunderbolt 3, so when two displays are connected through a Thunderbolt dock like TBT3-UDV they should both work as expected. The displays connected to the dock can be configured in either Extend or Mirror mode through the "Display" section of the System Settings on the Mac. Please note that using the Mac in Clamshell mode would also require that the Mac has an external keyboard and mouse connected - connecting these peripherals through the dock should suffice. If you have additional questions don't hesitate to contact us at [email protected] and we'll be happy to assist. Thanks and best wishes!

Now the problem is: Windows 11 comes scaled for 1080p and I need to REDUCE the scaling now, so that it will fit my 720p screen. Everything is entirely too big.. and I have no way to scale it down at all. You can can go all the way to 500% scaling, but you can't go below 100%.. smh. Microsoft is embarrassingly incompetent.. Windows 11 is terrible. I started using Nobara (linux)-- and you can change EVERYTHING about it.. everything is adjustable. It's so much better. I'm actually shocked that everyone is still using windows, with how bad it is... in so many ways.

No sorry. This will only fit onto a MacBook based on its design. You would want to consider a standard USB-C Hub like the USBC-7IN1E. It isn't a software compatibility issue, it is simply due to its physical design being made for to seamlessly fit onto the side of the MacBook.

@PlugableАй бұрын
Hi there, Your screen orientation or configuration should not change after every restart. It's hard to pinpoint the cause without digging deeper into your configuration. We could be dealing with a faulty product, EDID issues if signal converters are being used(for example, DisplayPort to HDMI), or a DisplayLink Manager issue. Please get in touch with us directly at [email protected], and we can look into this further.

Can you have the docking station and the laptops power adapter plugged in at the same time? .. Ideally I just want to keep the laptop lid closed all the time and just have to press the power button on the docking station to power on the laptop while it's connected to an external monitor and have just 1 thing plugged into the docking station (keyboard or mouse). The laptop I have is an Asus gaming laptop.

Thank you for contacting Plugable! To clarify, there is no issue with both the docking station and the laptop power supply being connected at the same time. Regarding turning on the host laptop via the dock, this is not currently a feature available with our docks, and is typically associated with OEM docks (i.e. Dell dock with a Dell laptop). Thank you!
