Hii love your video. I am planning to come here with my parents. I have 2 questions, how far is the trail from the parking lot to the pond? And is it an easy walk? I need to consider these because my parents are kinda old of age.

Wow, everything looks pretty. What date did you go to Kyoto? I want to go in the fall of this year. It will be good to do it around November 28th or it will be too late to enjoy the fall trees?

This was I think early November, but every year is a bit different depending on the weather. There is a really good homepage you can check to see which areas have fully coloured leaves here: kyoto.travel/en/autumnleaves/

When I did this video I spoke a little Japanese, but not great. Some parts of Hokkaido do not have a lot of English information, but it is totally ok to do wit a little planning :) but yes, if you have Japanese language skills everything will be so much easier...

@LetsTravelandEat

It was a private experience. Generally you will have to get in touch with an organiser and they will pick Maiko-san and the tea house. So locations often change according to the needs of the group or person booking.

I am planning to visit this as well, along with Shirahige waterfalls. I will be coming from Sapporo. I still cannot find myself to work on the schedule as the waiting time seems too long. Aside from the blue shop you visited, are there any more places to check out in the area? If I go to the falls first, I should be arriving at the pond around 1pm. But the bus back to Asahikawa station is not until around 430pm. I am wondering if there are any more places there aside from the pond and the shop selling ice cream, just to kill the time?
@LetsTravelandEat
@LetsTravelandEat 10 ай бұрын
To be honest when I was there I did not find much. But it seems there is a pottery place you could possibly do an experience (kaikukiln.com/) and I saw a restaurant where you could grab lunch maybe a 20 min walk away (maps.app.goo.gl/oZRpum35qcba1vj96). Hope that helps

Hey there! I totally get the struggle with planning around the bus times. Other than the pond and the ice cream spot, you might want to check out the nearby Shirogane Shrine or just take a stroll along the scenic paths. It's a nice way to pass the time! Plus, the area is super picturesque, so you'll definitely find some nice spots for photos. Hope you have a great time at Shirahige too! Enjoy your trip!

Oh thank you for taking us along, I was just researching to see if it was possible to visit via public transport! 1- Did the bus you took make a stop at Biei? (that's the station I saw recommended when coming from Sapporo) 2-How long did you have to wait for the return bus? 3-How long would you say it takes to eat the blue snack + see the pond? All the best!
@LetsTravelandEat
@LetsTravelandEat 11 ай бұрын
It depends a little which bus you take. If you are on the #39 the bus stops right in front of the parking lot and it is less than 5min walk to the pond. (for this you can take the bus from Asahikawa station). There are only a few busses, you can check the timetable here: www.dohokubus.com/files/rosen1_heijitu.pdf 😉 As for the pond you are probably ok spending one hour there. If you are thinking about going to other places nearby, I would recommend going to the tourist information center in Sapporo station as they sometimes have a day bus, that brings you around, which might make your life easier :)

Hey, the hotels are generaly booked up a couple of month in advance and most restaurants (dinner option) is often included, so definately try to book if you like to stay 😉 The few restaurants that are there seemed to have been ok with walk-ins, but it can get really busy so you may have to queue or they do not have space...
