I did as you did and I can finally remove the P1243 error and it does not come back. The turbo sound has changed, it's a bit strange. (Z20LER 2.0 T GTC 200 HP)

What time did it run?
@JamesBalazs8 күн бұрын
It was doing low 13s, 13.1 I think By the sounds of it it was on budget tyres, and the launch control, traction control etc not all dialled in yet since it was rushed out the door for Race Wars the other week

@@db9023 I didn't see official timing, but I saw 125 on the speedometer at the end of the low boost run. I'm sure Vinnie will have time slips in his video from the day, when that comes out

The steering wheel is on the right side, making it difficult to use the radio. Typically, apps have a menu on the left.

Hey James we chatted earlier on Facebook, I built this kit 4.5 years ago couple years later I saw Ali express copied it with a fitting kit for that position with an android tablet, yours looks considerably more improved than the one I got but it is almost 5 years old

Teyes CC3, you can order from their website and I have made a video about installing it
@bloodchildeАй бұрын
So you have to lose your trip computer and fuel consumption display in order to use the Teyes?
@JamesBalazsАй бұрын
I'm not sure. I didn't have those anyway, because I have an aftermarket ECU. The Teyes does seem to display them, but it doesn't work at least on my car. I seem to remember their website saying it isn't supported.

how is your teyes head unit doing? is it any good and is it worth me buying one? Cheers
@JamesBalazsАй бұрын
It's great, I'd still recommend it. I guess it depends on your budget though, since you can get 90% of the features for probably £100 less with the cheaper eBay/AliExpress Android head units.

carbon tips have never been my thing on any car. do they hide the soot, yes, but carbon requires different cleaning processes to keep it nice. plus, from far away, they just look black.

The smoke situation, I've had similar over the years ALWAYS after engine rebuilds. The running in process is not good for turbos. Any fallout ends up in the cartridge and just wears the seals. I learnt my lesson and fitted a pre-filter (inline) but that isn't always fool proof and just another thing to leak or go wrong (+if it blocks...). However, I remove them after running in. Even your builder may not have been 100% clinical or the machine shop. It happens. I'm not sure what a bore inspection would do, but compression testing is easy and cheap. Would be surprised if it was anything other than the turbo. Be worth whipping off and dropping at a local place for inspection. Or you're replacing it no? So wouldn't worry too much if, the latter. See if it gets worse. Check the cold side and see if it's passing oil there too, make sure your return is not kinked etc. I wouldn't be too down heartened. Great content by the way - I'm local in Doncaster, if you want an opinion or a brew 😊
@JamesBalazsАй бұрын
It's in at Giz now, turbo is healthy but oil pooling around the top of cylinder 4 on the intake side. So looks like an incorrectly installed or damaged stem seal on the intake valve. I did suspect the turbo since like you say, the running in oil isn't great for bearings, debris collects in the cartridge, and it was run with no oil pressure before the rebuild. But no shaft play and the boost pipes and downpipe were bone dry upon inspection this week. Will do a video update when I get it back, thanks for your comment!
