Yeah! Let's dive into the past something deeper! What about 1994? Vauxdvihl - To Dimension Logic. A blast from the past. One of the fitness world class proggy Albums ever made! I can't really tell you how much I love this record ❤️ From start to finish - pure perfection! No filler - all Killer. How start this Beauty? Normally I can only listen to this from start to finish. In a Row... So... Why not start into this with the Song : In Search of Forever... m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/bH2sZpqhgJV5eqc&pp=8AUB

The one you were talking and thinking about is : Mr. Geoff Tate (Queensryche) This is what Ray Alder reminded you.

Ray Alder was just phenomenal at this time The whole band was on their highest peak of creativity. Have a great time. Amazing song. The bridge with the syncopated drums and bass is sublime.

That was an outtake... For a while, some CDs would have "bonus" tracks and such... Like Marvel with scenes during the credits at the end.

Love PT but also a lot of other stuff like Earthside's A dream in static. And Sleep Token's Ascensionism. You'll apriciate these 2.

I lost interest after apsog. For whatever reason their later stuff just did not grab my attention. I always found them better than dream theater though.

Loving this tune more and more. Did they open the show with this one at your gig? I saw them in Melbourne Australia on the same tour. So effortless, just amazing.

I wouldn’t class IQ as modern. They keep getting better but have kept a signature sound throughout and stuck to their roots. Great band!

In the last part of this song it's Henshall's voice ("At the end of your rope. In the umbra time stands still...")

New Prog? These guys have been around since ‘82. Pre-date Tool by a long way. The bands they probably get compared to most are Queensryche or Dream Theater. One of my favorite bands. Inside Out is a top five of all time for me.

I mean this in the nicest way because I love both bands and both these songs, but I realized lately than this is basically Haken's A Change of Seasons. Similar themes, similarly incredible music

fun fact, that last part of the song is actually the band in their recording cabin, just jamming. This song came from that jam session, and they put that in there, and i think thats amazing

a lot of symphony x's songs should be listed to as whole albums. they are metal operas, for example Iconoclast is about an AI that brings about armageddon, or the new mythology suite tells the tale of the fall of atlantis and the death and rediscovery of ma'at's teachings.

Great reaction. But you said 'pretty song'. Watch the animated video and you'll realise it's about [SPOILER ALERT] a guy haunted by the memory of killing his partner in a vehicle accident. Still an awesome song, but SO sad.

The song was written by Richard Henshall about the death of his father, so it's a deeply personal song lyrically and probably difficult to pick apart without input from him I'd imagine. Ross Jennings' vocals on this are outstanding.
