I just broke an eggshell ornament that has been in my family since 1988. I'm going to surprise my mom with a new one tomorrow (Christmas day) thanks to this video. Thank You.

Hi Crafty Mom. our Filipino Lumpia is not an egg roll because the wrapper used for it is made of flour and water only. We usually call it a Filipino pork or vegetable Spring rolls but for some reason from the vlogs I have seen of Filipino Americans cooking it they prefer to use beef. No problem. Whatever makes people happy. I believe it is our Filipino Muslims who use beef because obviously they are not allowed to eat pork. We also have an egg roll wrapper but it is cooked more like a crepe and used as a wrapper for fresh vegetable Lumpiang Ubod I.e. Heart of Palm. Enjoy!

Don’t be dumb and do this in your oven or inside in general. The beads produce toxic fumes and will leave a residue in your oven or your grill, buy something cheap to make these in and then make sure no one uses it to cook food in.

Is it possible to obtain these crystals without egg shells??
@thecraftymom62 ай бұрын
Yes, you can make the saturated solution as shown and let it precipitate in the container without adding the eggshells. It ends up as a solid disc, but I’ve broken it into small pieces.

Those look great! How do they hold up over time? Do they disintegrate as they dry, or does humidity have much effect? My Christmas-obsessed son would probably want to make ornaments out of them. They remind me of rock candy "Swizzle Sticks" we used to get when I was a kid.
@thecraftymom66 ай бұрын
Hi and thank you for visiting our other channel! You can preserve them by applying a plastic or acrylic coating to protect them from moisture or humidity.

Candied Mint Leaves or sugared leaves are a tasty treat on their own or with tea! They can also be used to garnish, top cakes, ice cream, or beverages! ✳️Using pasteurized eggs can reduce the risk of food-borne illness. Beat the egg till frothy. You can dip the leaves in the egg white and remove excess by wiping it off on the side of the bowl. Let the leaves air dry for 24 to 48 hours or in a food dehydrator. Use right away or store in an airtight container layered between parchment paper for about 2-3 weeks.
