No gasket tape around the mounting and around outer area of the surround is CRAAAAAZY work bro!! If you put that on your speakers you won't have to worry about rattling as much and you'll be funneling all the sound through the speaker grille.

I replaced all 6 speakers in my 2012 Prius. I couldn't believe how cheap & flimsy the Stock speakers were..I wish the unit had more power because I can't get enough volume in rear speakers without losing too much in front..I was sorry it took me so long to do this!

Are the front door speakers connected in series with the dash speakers? Because I removed the dash speakers and the front door speakers don't work even when I replace them. they just work.

Capacitors don't always make them tweeters. Larger compasitors can bring the hz low enough but not that low you get distortion

Please, I need help. I'm trying to do exactly what you're saying in this video but I still can't get the ice bucket out. It seems like it is still locked together or something. I can get the whole right side and bottom part loose but the left side of the bucket stays attached and feels like it will break if I pull on it any harder than I have been. How this makes sense because I really need someone help and advice please.

Excellent guide. yours is the only help I could find as a "how to" for the panel removal. I ended up using the same JBL speakers as you and replacing the stock cap with 100uF Muse audio grade BP. I did need to grind out the old protrusions on the grilles with a grinder. Great sound and no L-pad needed!

If you are doing the bearings with changing the factory ones out, there is no hole to put a M8x1 bolt into it. I just unbolts you four 14mm bolts from the rear and then tapped the wheel studs out and the bearing separated from the drum

Dang yes drill the rivets out. Get the speaker adapter and install rivnuts. The rivnuts make the speaker servicable. I do like the use of the wire harness.

The grunts and finger cut made for great subtle humor and the POV made for good vantage.

My prius came with the jbl upgraded sound system. Is there any way to turn the Amp up? It's bolted down under the seat. I think it can be louder

What does “Prius JBL” mean for speakers?

I have almost never in my life done such a thing without busting up a clip or something. Always kind of taints the job a little.

Removing it was not as difficult as putting it back in. Is there some trick to getting it to go back in, without forcing it???
