Im "committed to freecad " as I use linux and it ( was /is ) the only real alternative BUT I get tired of the" curveballs" it throws example; Im drawing a frame , as per "manifold, parts wb exturde plane" now I have 7 extrudes as its extruded every little segment separately so NOW I have Join. delete, figure out ask for help give up ALL I WANT TO DO IS DRAW A SIMPLE TUBE IN 3D varicad did it fine and the "annoying " thing is when you highlight the inconsistencies its never the software problem

The boundary condition on the left (i.e. at the center axis of the bolt) should be constrained in the x direction due to symmetry (in a bolt, it'll have the same force pushing opposite in the x-direction from the other side, canceling out virtually exactly) instead of bulging out as is shown. (Not that it changes your observations really.)

Extremely helpful video. I didn't get what was wrong at the 5:30 mark. As in the result of Max Fibre stress Gmsh returns was different as to what we would get if we calculate it using traditional methods?
