We really didn't get the same experience that we had just eight months ago, but some of the people remembered us as soon as they saw us. This detailed review was helpful and reassuring. My husband and I are an older couple who went to our first all inclusive resort last year. (Sandals Halcyon Beach, St Lucia) We loved it, but this time my husband wanted to go to Mexico, and I have had a very hard time trying to find a place that would give us a somewhat similar experience in regard to relaxation, atmosphere, etc. After considering a lot of places in Mexico your video made me feel that Secrets Akumal would be ideal for us, and we look forward to spending 6 nights there in February 2025. Thank You again for such an informative video! PS) I am not sure what month you were there, but do you know if any of the pools are heated in winter? Very nice video. We are very much looking forward to our trip there in April. The Loyalty Dinner has never been about being a sales pitch since for 90% of the attendees, the trip is not their first Sandals or Beaches and more than 2/3 are Sapphire (25 nights) status or higher - it is more about getting as many people as want to attend together at the same place while informing the guests about future changes and getting feedback on their visit to the resort. At some point, they will need to add more food options as with the current and probably for the next couple of years air service, the majority of their guests will be staying at least 7 nights, and with only 6 dinner choices (Buccan, Butch's, Gatsu, Jerk Shack, Scrimshaw & Sora), if you don't like one, you will be repeating places. The same for lunch - a couple of food trucks would really add to the variety.

Curious. We usually skip the loyalty dinner because we’re pearl level and don’t like a lot of attention focused on us for being that level. We stopped going because Sandals would place us at a central table and make a huge fuss about us and diamond level people. One resort even put a spotlight on us. We prefer to mix with the other guests. Do you know if this occurred at your loyalty dinner? We’re heading there in January and trying to decide if we will attend. We do enjoy the Diamond lunch with the managers.
@ACoupleTravelers21 күн бұрын
@@nanschmidt2507 it was like that at this one too. But I wonder if when you rsvp you ask to not be at that table/not highlighted. They want to make you happy so I’m sure they would accommodate!!

@@ACoupleTravelersthanks. We’ve requested not to sit at that table in the past. It really wasn’t received well by loyalty people. They spent the entire cocktail time pre dinner trying to talk us into it. I think it’s something they are instructed to do. I thought we were alone in our thinking but we’ve met numerous others who don’t attend for the same reason. We’ve brought it up with management and on survey/evaluations. Enjoyed your video.
