I get the frustration, I played Genshin before Star Rail and I actually like Star Rail more. Sure, it's not a big open world like Genshin, but Ranking up, gathering level materials, gathering ascension materials, all that's a bit easier. Personally, I liked the story a lot more when I was choosing what game to get rid of due to phone space. I ended up picking to delete Genshin because after a year or so of playing, I only managed to get to the end of the first Liyue story quest.

you should know there is a lot of diffrence between turn based game and action adventure game. In Hsr they gave a lot of rewards from event bcs the exploration is barely there and the main focus is storyline and challenging enemy that requires certain characters to make things work. While in genshin you get very little rewards bcs the exploration is huge and thats where most of your resources came from. Genshin focuses on the story and world exploration with not so difficult challenges comparing to hsr. So they both hv pros and cons. Take it with a grain of salt. I prefer genshin bcs i just like exploring the world more thn linear exploration from hsr. But turn based game definitely my type of game but not GACHA one for sure. I prefer turn based game like persona, Shin megani tensei, metaphor or even something like fire emblem. Turn based+gacha is a huge no for me...

I have spent ages trying to find an answer to that. And i have....... an answer. Is it the best answer? Probably, probably not. Genshin's main form of rewards was never just from limited time events. It's an open-world exploration game. You gain so much rewards from simply wandering around and collecting stuff. Is it a permanent form of getting pulls? No, but it is a good way for those who enjoy exploring

it's pretty simple you can't explore in honkai. genshin has 5 main regions, the desert, ocean, chenyu vale, the chasm, enkanomiya. when you explore all of this (and then donate the sigils, oculi etc) you get a lot of stuff. i think the main reason people don't notice this is that they explore maybe 5 chests once and then stop, because they feel unmotivated but yeah, genshin gived you stuff, you just gotta search for it more

I think, the rarity is there to make the characters or items you pull feel more SPECIAL. See, imagine if they were giving away characters that are 4 or 5 stars and items like it's nothing. It would feel like these characters or item has no value in it. It isn't special no more. 😅That's why food tastes better after working hard, I guess😅

Hoyo hates Genshin.

We get events more often and far less power creep so the units we do collect remain better throughout.

i always preferred honkai over genshin but i sided w genshin bc my phone cant handle honkai or normal genshin im literally praying for a new phone or smth so i can play honkai cries 😭

It’s bc we as Genshin players ask for things, the makers think woah good idea let’s do that but let’s do it for our other games. I remember we asked for a wishes to be 60% 40% and they did it for Star rail

As a Genshin player to "trying" Starrail. I personally cant play it like how i want to. Since Meta feels incredibly pushed you are locked from so many artifact, bosses, sets. Behind story. Which is incredibly interesting, but i dont have the time or attention frame to actually feel intrigued. So i get stuck in a spot where i feel i cant do much bc im too weak for end game stuff. Dont want to do quests. Etc etc With genshin yes stuff is locked, but thats mostly just inazuma. Otherwise nothing is stopping you from just walking to whatever region you want to go to. Some events are hard mostly the combat ones, but usually they give high level trial characters and make primos the bare minimum score. You do have to get on more often, but theres many interactive ways to spend resin. Also idk if it's just me but hsr is sleep inducing and only really gets played in SU and strategy parts of the game. Otherwise its auto mode and you wait

Bcuz the "meta" in hsr change much more quickly than genshin. In genshin, you can pull a certain "meta" character and play permanently, not like hsr. That's the reason they give you more ticket in hsr

You can get free primo in genshin if your a HoYo creator! And thats why some streamers get a lot if characters, and to get 5 stars you need to do 90 pulls first and if your lucky enough you can get a 5 star, and to get characters you can only do the 10x pulls, but if u already did the 90 pulls then you can do the 1x pull! I Know how u feel, i came from Honkai Impact, rewards drops from one game to another is huge. In HI3rd they practically begs u to play, gives u tons of energy to keeping u playing, has a lot of late game content and u dont need to grind like a psycho for primos (Crystals in HI3rd). Pulls are expensive (2000, instead of 1600), but old character is claimble through tokens u get from abyss and events has generous rewards.

Your supposed to explore, Honkai is a fighting game but genshin focuses on lore and exploration

Instead of gacha pulls the game gives you actual content. Honestly you could play for hundreds of hours without even opening the gacha menu

I think it might be because Hoya profits off of Honkai; they sell their PS5 game for £40 for example. They’re also a newer game so maybe they also give more rewards to avoid fatigue for new players

Genshin is the biggest gacha game in the world, they don't really have any serious, threatening competition. Therefore they can afford to not give as much and maintain their place in the market, where as a game like star rail is smaller and still up and coming, so needs something to get more players into it

the thing is that hsr has insane powercreep, practically forcing you to pull for the new characters. meanwhile you can clear all the content in genshin with characters from 1.0 if you're dedicated enough. so sure, you get more pulls in hsr, but you *need* them to clear the content

I could never play star rail just cuz of the fighting style and mechanics. I prefer games where if I lose or win a fight it’s because of my actual skill and readiness

It doesn't need to. Up until Wuthering Waves came out it didn't have any competition in it's space. And WW's launch was pretty bad, so I couldn't get into it.
