Excellent video……. which would definitely suit my problem. Having bought all of the components, my only problem now is the cordless door bell push, which only a has 3V button battery, where as yours was a 12V! In your view will my bell push work on this system? Do you have a contact number or email address to discuss further!

Hello. I had built the Maplin probe and then I saw this and thought, why not. However, it appears to work backwards - Probes open buzzer and LED 10 lights, short probes and you can adjust the LED position with VR1. Is there something I am missing? I'm sure I have followed your circuit to the letter. Thanks, in advance, Mark

I will take a look and let you know. I just wanted to check in that the schematic was correct. I built one recently where the transistors were 180 out, great fun!

Hello again. I have checked all of the components, which are correct. I removed TR1 and the LED's 5-10 work as the low resistance continuity tester. When in circuit, the LED's 1+2 swap to 3+4 when shorting the probes, but the LED's read backwards, 10-5. Perhaps a resistor value? I'm guessing all of the values in your circuit are as per the schematic? If so, I might knock the circuit up again on a breadboard and play

My dad put a ghost on a clothesline with a motor on it. He put the motion detector where if the birds triggered it it was a lot of birds. it worked so well he started scaring my mom with it.

Ive never had problems with pidgeons and my neighbour keeps pidgeons and he letsbthem out quite regularly.

Most of the nicer port piers I have been to as a mariner have a motion activated sprinkler system that sprays seagulls and other birds off the pier. Just need to remember to shut it off before walking down the pier.

yah, but prob dont need any resistor, as 1.6v x 3batteries = 4.8v which should be close enough to the 5v supply from the adapter. Oh, or just watch the video to the end for the answer, LOL

Probably to bi-pass the on-board voltage regulator.

Very good video. I was on the same concept but still doing my research adding the capacitor and resistor was a great touch. I have seen a another sensor but there not much information out there,,,, Still researching to find out the most stable transmitter receiver for about 10+ meters up to 50 feet also seen one transmitter /receiver worked with a reflector just trying to find something stable Again great video,,, this really helps
