I am so sorry for your loss Jesse, I'd say I couldn't imagine what you are going through except it's palpable how devastated you are with ever breath you take, even through a video. A couple BookTubers had started doing 'Most Anticipated' lists for 2025 and that reminded me that I hadn't seen your videos in a while. I was looking for a new Patreon to support in the new year and yours sounds perfect, no need to worry about being an inconsistent poster cause I'm constantly distracted and forget to check-in so your posts will be a happy surprise for the both of us. Sending you good vibes that you and your brother will find steady work, a safe new space to live, and comfort in each other. Please take time to prioritize your grief and mental health. And while I missed out on Suki's initial read-a-thon I'm looking forward to the Galentine's day celebration.

14:14 so much normalized, y'all keep staying ignorant about what the bully does and jump at their minimum whinnying about "sorry, i didn't know better. I'll stay strong and get through this, along with my mental issues. I'm a patient amd survivor. Dont show your bodies on social media, but please be kind when talking about my bikini/nudes because NOW that I'm fat, it hits me harde then ahen y'all used to bully my ex bf's girl friends/acquaintances. Now I'm insecure, shower me with compliments, and don't forget that models have sick figures, while I'm normal 🥰" Yeah, y'all totally have swallowed that bullsht selena gomess has been feeding yall after 201t when she svcked Mark Zuck... 🍆 and media started to defend her while simultaneously instigates and allows cyberbullying coincidentally towards those people selena herself has found having one-sided feed with. And how y'all victimize her under the "she's chested on" when forstbof all, she's a GROÖMER!! Who hunted Justin Bieber since he was 14. Selena is older than Justin for two yrs, spent a year and a half calling him "my little brother" and three months later, she's parading in red carpets, showing him off as her UNDERAGE new bf, while she's 19 Keep feeding into her normalized victimizing show, keep allowing her to get away. Y'all are describing a bully and point fungers at the wro one all because y'all are too lazy and hater, to do actual decent research and speak from a high moral point of view. You protect her doing these videos because y'all see her sht in yourself. Too irresponsable and arrogant to admit y'all are narcissists and bullies

Look No Offense But How A Book That Tackles Any Issues Such As Homophobia That Homophobia Is Despicable & Terrible Thing Or Racism Is Very Awful & Horrible Thing Or Ableism Or Sexism & Misogyny Are Equally Nasty & Very Horrendous When People Such As You Can't Accept That There Are Not Only Authors Who Are Problematic & Bigoted & Nasty But Also Many Of The Characters & Stories Are But It Doesn't Mean That If A Character In A Book Or A Theme Is Terrible, Problematic & Nasty That Doesn't Mean That There Is Not A Counterargument Point Or Another Character In The Same Book That Is Not A Bigot & Problematic!!!!

Dear Ms. Jesse- I wish to express my condolences for the loss of your mom. Will your videos return to its previous format where primary conversation is on books? I purchased many of your recommendations, and truly enjoyed. Now, your videos appear to be your personal life. Best Wishes to feeling better and adapting to family changes.

I have read the series and while i love it and am a rin protecter till the end, there is a detail that bothered me. According to me, if kuang had changed that point of the plot the book could have been more meaningful in terms of teaching values. While i understand that this is a grim dark book so death, torture and morally grey characters are to be expected. And i love parallels as much as the next person. I still wish that rin that broken the cycle. She hadn't met the same fate as altan and tearza. And made different choices. Cuz if its just a repeating cycle then i wonder why we should read her book and her perspective. Rin's personality and story would have been more enhanced if the author gave her the chance to make different choices or maybe even nezha (end of dragon republic iykyk). The book, plot wise, would have been better that way

The future of literature is screwed. I love how we are focusing on the race of the author instead of the quality of the book. Your book didn't get published and you didn't become the famous, rich author you wanted to be? Boo hoo. Try harder next time. Quit blaming your shortcomings on racism.

I am so so sorry for y'all's grief <3 nothing I can say is consoling, but I've experienced grief before for someone I've loved, and it hurts like nothing else. I hope y'all's journey with the loss and love of y'all's mum is one surrounded by family and friends who love y'all to provide some of that in person community. And that is despicable to hear -- about the treatment of y'all's mum, and y'all while working as well. Absolutely outrageous!!

Admittedly, I'm a little late to the game cause I'm just starting the second book... but I was also extremely shocked by the lack of READING COMPREHENSION exhibited in a lot of the critiques I've seen online (both on Goodreads, Reddit, and KZbin). I totally agree with all of your points, and it was extremely refreshing to see someone as frustrated as I was by the absurdity of some of these reviews. Like... do people genuinely not understand that Rin's internal motivation of creating autonomy and agency for herself is a valid reason for removing her uterus... and everything she did after...? I also find it so hard to believe that people do not understand that the Speerlies were involved in a genocide. Like... is it hard to imagine that violence enacted by an oppressive regime, for multiple wars, would not be enough to justify some form of violent rebellion. Overall, I feel like some people are entirely missing the point of Rin's character and involvement in the war. Also, as an Asian American reader, it was extremely refreshing to see you defend R.F. Kuang from people accusing her of stealing from white authors *Chef's kiss*

Ive done a few short stints on youtube but yeah im too fat, too queer, too radical, too disabled. Its disappointing to not have people to talk about books with. Literally a couple days ago i was like "i need to go to the bookstore. I just need to talk to someone. Im so lonely." I havent really made friends since i moved here. We moved for my partners job. Id love to find people to chat about books with but i dont feel like i have a space online really. I want a small diverse booky discord. I read fairly diversely with hardly trying. I do sometimes try, to be clear. But i just inherently want to hear stories. The joy of reading to me is hearing stories ill never live, exposing myself to other lives. I want to, and love, reading from people whos lived experiences arent mine. Idk if its because im autistic, and already marginalized in many other ways. But ive never understood people who dont read or watch diversely because they "cant relate" boggles me. You can relate to DRAGONS but not OTHER HUMANS?
