Whilst it's sad to see her go down next year for an overhaul, it will be nice to see 203 back in steam once she's done. After that, it won't be long before the 2 of them run side by side again

I remember when this railroad's mainline was chock full of stored cars and everyone wondered how they served their customers. It's great to see business picking up for them, I can assume we'll see more long trains on the CFW as well since Bridgeport has forecast an increase in production.

Nice job! Been meaning to get out to South Pittsburg and Bridgeport for some time, but I've been bust with work and other projects. But I always keep my camcorder fully charged and with me when I'm out and about just in case.

I was curious to see and learn about the SQVR, so it's great that you have quite a few videos covering them. The beginning of the video at Wauhatchie Yard was awesome too!

@SouthernRaiIs1186 That's cool man, thanks for doing that. I'm from the Chattanooga area as well, so I've watched some videos about them as well as the Chatooga and Chickamauga Railway. Like you said, there were definitely fewer videos and information about the SQVR in comparison. Do you know how often trains run on their line? From what I could find, they only have a few customers since they only have around 10 miles of track.

Third Street in S Pittsburg, if I'm not mistaken that road used to lead to the ferry ramp. You could cross the river to New Hope there until the Shelby Rhinehart Bridge was opened in 1981. Now access to the road to the bridge is restricted where it comes out on 72 because a big fat sinkhole opened up in it. Thanks for the video, greatly enjoyed it. It's nice to see familiar places and remember familiar things like the L&N.

It's a shame there's not a lot of business on the north end of the line. The Tri-County Rail Authority resisted IHR's desire to rebuild and repaint the GP's for a long time because those engines do not belong to the CFW, they belong to the TCRA, but eventually they were overdue for an overhaul and IHR used that as an excuse to chop the noses off and put that camouflage leaf green livery on there. Sometimes I almost wish the G&W had bought them, but the GP's would've probably been traded in for something newer.

Are there any business in Sparta TN or close to it?
@rockguitarist9313 ай бұрын
@@ericshook9270 As far as I know, there's just a co-op in Sparta that gets a car every once in a while. The railroad is definitely not running like it was under Ed Cox, who had 30 customers at one point. But I've heard talk of more businesses wanting to ship by rail in coffee county and Bridgestone has been ramping up to increase production, which is partially why they brought in #3002.

I saw the train that day. They were crossing Third Street, last I saw of them, the train was about to cross that steel bridge across Battle Creek. Thanks for sharing these videos. This train is a rare sight for me. When I was a kid, the rails did run all the way to Pikeville and the train would go up the valley every weekday morning and come back down the valley in the evening loaded with coal. That was when the mines out in the Pocket were still producing.
