Thanks for your great learning material, I am still learning Bluegrass guitar with your wonderful book "ASAP Bluegrass Guitar". I can only recommend it to everyone who seriously wants to start learning bluegrass. I would much appreciate a second volume 🙂

Thank you so much for putting out these videos! They have helped me SOO much and the way you explain things simply and clearly without extraneous information is extremely helpful! Question on this video: If 95% of the time the first chord is the key, and 99% of the time the last chord is the key, what about when the first and last chord are not the same- how do you know?

Assume it is where the song lands at the end, especially if it sounds like everything comes to a conclusion with that chord.

You have a very good point. I had the same experience when changing strings...very difficult. That didn't come up when I did the review, since the strings were brand new. Gold Tone should consider a better design for that. Still love everything else about it.

Hi Eddie, I am brand new at the banjo, actually it's a 4 string Irish Tenor Banjo, however, I know my way around the guitar so I'm hoping that gives me some small edge. I just purchased this thing for $150.00 and I was told it's from the 1960's. It's called a Beltone banjo.

You can read the tab the same, then choose a right hand pattern that you can combine with the chords during the "fast" part.

howdy again, I left a message about a month ago saying that I would be back to try this once I got some more experience with playing the Banjo. Well I can follow along at 50% speed now - 1 think another week or so and I should be up to 75%. Thank you again.

Thanks Eddie for another helpful video. How do you have your strap attached? It looks like it is attached to a tuning peg.
@eddiecollins2394
@eddiecollins2394 27 күн бұрын
Yes, it is a specially designed strap that goes over the head stock and has a slit to go over the E tuning peg. I feel it has better balance this way instead of the scroll.
@djba
@djba 27 күн бұрын
Thanks for the information Eddie. After I saw where you had your strap connected, I copied the location with a shoelace between the tuning pegs connected to my strap. I have been using it that way ever since. You are right about better balance.

This answered my question about whether any of the rolls I knew from guitar finger picking would work on banjo! Lots of great ideas, Eddie.
@eddiecollins2394
@eddiecollins2394 Ай бұрын
Thanks Susan. Definitely some specific patterns for banjo, like the forward/backward roll, just by the way it includes that high pitch G, whereas a simple inside roll that doesn't strike string 5, would work on both instruments.
