Extending Banjo Rolls

Thank you, Eddie. Great lesson. I find incorporating melodies into rolls on the banjo endlessly fascinating. I recently watched an episode on Deering live with Alison Brown. It was very good. At one point she demonstrated finding the melody of "spent all my money on a 2 dollar bill" and then embellishing with rolls. She seemed to do it so effortlessly. She said there was a type of "calculus" to it, but didn't elaborate. I have also been intrigued by Richard Dress' banjo hero videos. Again he incorporates melodies into rolls seemingly effortlessly. Thanks again for your great work of sharing your banjo knowledge!
