What softwares progress this vector and point approach? I currently use my iPad procreate but it’s getting annoying to a point where yea it SEVERLY impacts workflow so I need to switch to this. I also have a very good custom new computer, what do you use and what are other similar programs? Ive wondered if you could do this in programs like maya and blender while still keeping it 2D. I have all adobe programs but haven’t used one yet. Tell me everything- I’m aspiring to start in industry standard practices for 2025.

@@ranciidraptor any software that has a bezier curve tool, but it still functions differently, Clip Studio is different from Harmony or Blender for example, you just have to try it out and see how it's different. I used an ok PC, but my 2012 laptop still can pull most things off (except for heavy render). I'm currently learning how to do 2d animation in Blender and the principle how software analyzes vector information is similar to Harmony, however it does take a bit of a toll on a weak machine 😔 I wouldn't recommend photoshop for animation for weak pc too, it eats a lot of memory & there are already a ton of programs that do it better anyway.

im really thankful that you and other people who have been working on recent animated shows are allowed to post you progress/wips/timelapse online like this. i have toon boom and basically have been teaching myself how to use it since college was kind of a scam that solely focused on 3d work and was the only type of animation degree in my area (nothing wrong with 3d just not what i wanted to do!) and anyway this stuff really helps so much to look at. theres been so many times i wished i could take a look into the toon boom files of an animated show to see how they have stuff layered or how they clean stuff up.

I'm glad it's useful! College didn't help me as well, but watching how others do stuff did. I could also recommend you ZeBirdBrain's tutorials on Harmony!

i noticed that you do clean up on seperate files. Is that necessary for clean up or you can just do cleanups on just one animation layer?

0:00 I’m still learning and taking notes on the workflow of the clean-up in animation. So, blue lines are for the goat’s grey patches. Red are for the highlights, and its eyelids. And green for the glares. So…just those three exact colors for those purposes in animation?
@emptyvoid_2 ай бұрын
No, not really, you can pick any color as long as it doesn't strain your eyes. I can't work with all black line, I'd go mad
