Great demo!! I loved all of your tone examples. So what's the secret sauce on that 'Whole Lotta Love' demo? All of the other demos you show the pedal setting except for that one. You really nailed that old school Zepplin tone with those settings!

I'm running through a Aguilar DB680 preamp and playing a Sandberg Masterpiece TT4 bass. I also use the TC Electronic DITTO loop pedal for the bass loop...the description says, so let's trust that, since I don't remember it anymore 😀 No cabs, only pedal and preamp into pro tools.

@RuneVSchmidt10 ай бұрын
@@giovanniscarola5167 I'm not sure you could say it offers a cab sim. It is only an overdrive pedal, with lots of tonal options. But the sound you hear in the video is without cabinets, so if you normally only play direct and like this sound, that would ba a possibility. Just remember that I also go through a very nice tube preamp.

How can you memorize this. So many times I see people playing bass covers and they are staring at their own tabs while doing it. But maybe you have the skill of basically being able to play whatever you can think of. Your instrument is just like another voice you have. That's my aim. But then of course you have to remember all the exact melodies, through the whole song. Curious how it works for you.
@RuneVSchmidt Жыл бұрын
I start out with some kind of rough play through, so I get an overall idea of the song...learn the chord changes and the stuff that repeats throughout the song. When I've got that down, I go into detail in each section. At that point the main parts of the song should have been internalized, so I mainly have to focus on the stuff that sticks out...fills, and the B section of the song etc. Think that's how I normally do it. I have done it a lot, that helps of course 😀

I have three, I use one for a funky compressor, one for a sorta Geddy ballsy thing, and one for a bit harder drive, sorta like the 'No One Knows' tone. Never heard a solid state OD I liked as well, and I've tried almost all of them. Coupled with my G-K amps, I can get about as nasty a tone as I want with them. Fantastic little box.

This might just be THE best demo of Darkglass gear on KZbin. So many videos do a little bit of drive and then go straight to the harshest, darkest tones the pedal provides. You've shown how those who aren't into metal can use this pedal in the other 99% of musical situations. Thanks. :)
