Started when I was 12 and able to shoot small game. 47 hunted all over the US and Africa once. My dad is to blame for the bug.

I've always wanted to learn how to hunt. I didn't come from a hunting family, but feel like it's a valuable skill.

I heard all about it as a kid. My mom's folks were in Alaska and I was in California. My folks were divorced. I tried a bit in High school. I hadn't hunted until my oldest was 12. She's 15 now and we've both been successful one year on rifle mule deer. She told me she wanted to deer hunt with a recurve now that she's been successful. My second born son is 11 and the three of us have been bird hunting for 2 years now. My 9 yo daughter has been excited to start hunter safety and has been our retriever on doves. She just can't hold up a shotgun yet. The other 3 really want to get old enough to go too. We're all learning together and it's great. Just wish my freezer was full of venison this year. 😂 Thank you for your podcast. I started listening to them this year from the beginning as I travel the west to wildcard fires and have learned a lot. It's just been a weird year. Seems like the deer in central ca migrated down for the most part to private around Sept

I grew up hunting with my Dad & brother, same as you Remi. I got my first big game-4×4 mule deer in Arizona @ 11 years old after I passed the AZ G&F Dept hunter/safety course in 1962.

I started at 32. My brother also started as an adult and I have a couple friends who did too. I know others who want to get into it.

Self taught, started on my own 5 years ago at age 32. 90+ days a year spent scouting/hunting for the first few years really helped cut the learning curve. Love the struggles, highs and lows and the successes. Just took my 64 year old dad on his first ever hunt. Now he's hooked.

Love to see this, I grew up in a hunting family but grew away from it for a number of years. I’ve been back at it for several years now and getting more family and friends involved. Thanks for sharing this.

This goes way beyond hunting. The family unit is the center of a healthy society. What you are doing is so important for our future and very grateful you are sharing this in a world that has lost what a family unit means.

This was EXCELLENT!!!!! One of my favourite videos you guys have done! Wholesome family bonding. I have three kids. 7, 5, & 2 and we all hunt together every single season and since they were old enough to walk. I have a backpack style child carrier for the youngest when her little legs get tired and the older two hoof it like dad. It’s more difficult but they learn quick and the memories are soooo special! My oldest was five before he realized that people eat cattle 😂. He had only ever eaten wild game. The other two are the same 😍

I’m almost certain I’m not crazy saying this, but on his 3rd shot he adjusted FROM the bullet impact TO the bullseye down and right. Doesn’t it make sense to adjust FROM the bullseye TO the bullet impact up and left???

All the hunts these guys go on, and dont make videos, they make a video on this hunt??? Too many guys in these small areas ruin the hunt Then to show video as if elk are prevalent, is miss leading. It looks like they hit up some of the private ranches, also miss leading Yeah, have the big dogs go hunt these area too. But chit, dont make a video about it The plan-demic messed the area up bad enough, let alone this. Brian Calls uncle had enough sence and respect, he wouldnt even discuss these hunts, let a lone make a video Seems to me these top dogs, are just douche bags

CA only gives out one nonresident tag per year (that’s right, only one nonresident may hunt elk per year in the state through the regular draw). That would make Remi one lucky guy, so this was probably an expensive private land management tag. Also, I’m sure he did not have max (22) preference points (which you pretty much need to draw). Why not just tell us if it’s private so we can know if this is attainable?
