I notice that downtown Atlanta was a lot more happening back then. There isn’t nearly as much foot traffic now. They are building it back up since so many people are crammed into Atlanta.

It looks like a lot less homelessness. Is that the case?

Original Puma Bowie 6376, an extraordinary high-end piece. This one in the video is from the first years it was manufactured. In more recent times it was manufactured under the name Phoenix 116376, but I do not know if the type of steel changed. Its edge has a flat cast with a good table, and starts from the aluminum guard of the handle with 6mm thickness, and goes up to 7mm, giving good weight for hitting tasks. It is a piece that exceeds the best expectations, and the dream of the adventurer. Congratulations on having it!

This is when you use to park your car and not return to something with the glass bust out. The time when it wasn’t a sea of homeless near the capital or underground. Everybody had an opportunity back then. You could work at radio shack and still own a home

At 4:40 the news ribbon on the Times Tower reports the sinking of a ship by Typhoon Ruby near Manila. This refers to the sinking of the Doña Marilyn in the afternoon of October 24, 1988. (Wikipedia has an article on it.) Therefore the day of this video was the 24th or 25th of October 1988.

Hard Rock got rid of the onion domes and elephants. It would be cool if someone kept a few but I suspect they were all destroyed.

I was 16 in 1988. The RTS buses was growing since 1981: 1201-1858, 2201-2704, 3001-3325, 3400-4218, 4300-4899. The 1970s buses were slowly disappearing. There were only 23 pre MTA buses left in the NYCTA roster. These buses were blitzed to 5000-5022. Most of the 1968-1973 GM buses were blitzed to 5100-5159, 5200-5284, 5300-5404, 5500-5576. The Flxibles: there were only 92 1969 buses left, all were renumbered in the 7205-7299 & 7362-7469. The 1974 & 1975 Flxibles were on their way out slowly. 7753 without its wings ran on its last day. The 1977 9000 series Flxibles were the horses of the fleet with the exceptions of those that were in early accidents or fires.

Crazy to think we’ve come so far in terms of technology that i basically have a small mirror showing me NYC in the 80s. I’d like to consider it a form of time travel but ofc not as exciting as in the movies
