GX2 on the AG is the best combo.

While obviously you're more knowledgeable than I on the German market i was recently helping a friend find some Nike boots in Germany and it was pretty easy to find the tiempo elite around €160 the GX2 €160-180 and even some mercurials around €180. The German market in my experience isn't much different from other European markets I assume because you still have access to major retailers like Unisport and local stores can't totally price themselves out of the market. As I say you would be the expert but I've always helped people using 11teamsport mainly and GX2 elites under 200 aren't really an issue. Definitely under €240. Things like the Tekela and sketchers models being cheaper I absolutely see that and that would be expected even if you can find the Nike and Adidas options on sale. The Mizuno options I don't have a huge amount. Of regional info on for Europe

So boots by position really doesn't matter, you can and should wear whatever you feel comfortable in and enjoy, so you absolutely can wear them as a midfielder, you can wear them in any position

Yeah I think people find it an easy thing to just throw out there.

It's a bad take because the actual issue is that boots are being made with cheaper materials than they were 20 years ago, meaning overhead costs for the manufacturers are less, and yet the price-points keep getting higher. The profit margins are obscene. Inflation has nothing to do with it.

I disagree, just because other brands do it doesn't mean that it's the right thing to do or that we should just accept it.

I have a general conclusion to get obsessed with things, it's in my nature, and equipment is a really easy one to get deep into, so football boots really just made a lot of sense for my brain! So I was always interested and then when I could afford it, it was an obsession that could actually come to fruition, which now just means I own way too many pairs of boots

I kind of liked boots when I was growing up. But starting to work at a store made me obsessed.

There's no boots that are really going to do anything special with regards to keeping your feet warm outside of the maybe the old cold mode Adidas packs

You're probably best looking at something like a New Balance 442 Pro, great option for wide feet easy to get for a very affordable price.

The academy has a better structure to the outsole and overall isn't a bad option for the price. I'd still say look for higher tier boots on sale and if you're looking for something in that style I would suggest the Puma King Pro

Yeah swapping out insoles is something I do a lot after initial testing, sometimes just to get the fit right and sometimes because you get a much nicer insole.

Yeah, Asics has simple yet high quality insoles in their football boots. They're grippy, and made with their proprietary EVA foam (they call it "FlyteFoam"), which takes much longer to break down than the generic EVA foam generally used for the insoles by other brands.

The ones that fit you the best is the simple answer. I prefer the Alpha but that's just my preference

They have updated their sizing recently. Admittedly not to a 12 but I think they're up to a US10 or 10.5 now so many more options.

Yeah so the softness doesn't come from thin cheap materials, it is actually quite difficult from a manufacturing standpoint to create a synthetic material that has the properties of softness the hybridtouch has from a thin material while also retaining structure. Of course it's your choice what to wear, but you are misinformed as to the material science behind the boot.
