The obsession with the shorting plates between the tweeter input terminals and the bass input terminals has reached alarming proportions! The manufacturers of speakers know full well that the material these are made from is as equal to the job of conducting the current between the terminals as the printed circuit board tracks that are found on the crossovers inside the loudspeakers. The idea that replacing these short pieces of metal with cable, however 'good' quality it may be (and usually a good bit longer!) is absurd. Surely if this where true, then it would matter whether one plugs into the top or bottom set of terminals, as, when plugged into the top ones the shorting plate only carries the bass signal to the woofer filter, and conversely, when plugged into the bottom set of terminals the shorting plates only carries the treble component to the tweeter filter. On the subject of the crossover filters, the method of biamping suggested is pointless, as the signal to the tweeters and woofers still has to pass through the crossover filters in each path. The only really valid biamp system is that in which the output from the preamp is fed through an electronic crossover which divides the treble component from the bass and feeds it straight to the drive units. BTW, the idea of using two dissimilar amps for bass and treble in your 'passive' biamping system means that gain must be controllable on one of the amplifiers to be able to balance the outputs of treble to bass. Whether it's worth splitting the bass and treble at the amplifier end (biwire) or at the speaker terminals (conventional single wired) I don't have an opinion.....I'm just fascinated by the number of videos made by, and watched, by people who haven't a clue how speaker crossovers work!!!

I started separating preamp and amp in the early 80’s then to mono amps in early 2000. Will never go back to an integrated amp and stereo amps. But that’s me, it doesn’t mean it has to be the same for everybody.

Two quality network switches with SFP ports will do the same for $200. - get a 48 port Switch and space out your cables 300mm instead of 30mm - use one network switch for your home network and connect your switch (dedicated for audio) to the main switch with FIBER Also, a quality multi-rail power supply you can not fit in this small box.

You can also try to disassemble all the internal wifi antennas and of course disable all wifi functions. This in addition to a good power supply, the digital signal gains in quality. Reading the comments the dithering is not known to everyone...

Speaker switches are one more thing to introduce noise into the system. Generally speaking they are not made very well (certainly not to the same quality as hifi equipment), and in my experience they just ruin the sound from both devices.

Did you play any SACD disks during audition especially DSD recorded acoustic music? The Accuphase DP-770 DAC can process DSD256/PCM384 via USB. Any such audio files tried out or compared to discs.? The ESS ES9028PRO DACS are 8 channel DACS probably configured here for Mono differential, one DAC per channel giving higher DNR (135dB). Presumably its not using 8 x 8 channel DACS? Can you disable the noise cancelling of the analog signal?

Accuphase equipment these days is built to last at least 40 years, so most of your working life. Not forever, no but 40 years is pretty impressive by today standards.

Value is relative. If 26K is very expensive to you then this is probably not the product for you. But there’s plenty of people to whom that amount of money is perfectly reasonable and even some to whom that amount of money is absolutely nothing.

Streaming sucks . i like to own my music . if streaming isn't your thing then consider the model 30 . it's perfect for analog freaks and it has tone controls which i still love . i can tweak the song exactly how i want it . sometime i might want a bit more bass in a song i play often or i can get rid of any sharp highs that i find annoying . never understood why tone controls were dropped by most manufactures . I LOVe the smooth creamy sound of the 30 .
@siriosstar4789Ай бұрын
the other reason i got the 30 is because i'm using 4 ohm speakers that are NOT sensitive . the extra power of the 30 at 200 watts into 4 ohms really wakes up my speakers .

I have a N130 with Pd creative power supply, and an Eversolo A6 ME with Pd Creative power supply. Whilst the ESS dac chips definately offer more detail, space and precision, the warmth and the musicality of the N130 still has it's place in my system. Overall I'd say the N130 is a more musical and honest sounding machine. The Eversolo can be a lot of fun but when I just want a more laid back presentation with a bit more " realism" about it, I'll go back to my Node. I'd imagine some of the Xtra people are hearing on the Node X is similar. Is it better than the N130 though, that's the question, or is it just different. More detail doesn't always mean better. It can mean less musical or more harsh.

I started with Technics it was my first foray from a budget console turntable to a more serious yet very entry level $99.00 SL-D202 direct drive semi-automatic turntable. That thing ran trouble free from 1982 until it was sold for consignment in 2019. Now consider this was intended as disposable product and certainly was nothing special, but its reliability sold me on a SL 1200 GAE which to me is every bit of a higher end product despite not ever having any use for the pitch slider. Like its old sister the 202 it has run now trouble free since 2016 and most likely will be the last turntable I will own. There is no beating it for spot on speed accuracy, elimination of motor hum, and bearing rumble. It is dead silent,

I love its unpretentiousness . A golf ball is a perfect designed form , so make use of it and don’t disguise it either , perfect ! I’ve been looking at a second hand Simplex 1 and haven’t pulled the trigger yet because there is also a Townshend Rock for the same price , a turntable I’ve long admired and wanted . Both are brilliant designs but approaching damping from similar but opposite ends of the tonearm ! I just can’t make my mind up which to go for ! Any advice from someone with experience of either is appreciated .
