Ingenious how you create such a wide variety of delicious and nutritious meals out of whatever is in your freezer and pantry. Do you plan out your meals at the start of the week?
@FrugalpleasuresinretirementКүн бұрын
Hello, Thank you for your kind comment. Yes, I do plan my meals at the start of the week. First check what I have, then buying the missing ingredients. 💐❤️

@@Frugalpleasuresinretirement Perfect way to eat well on a budget. I arrange my pantry and freezer by use-by date, and that determines the theme of my meals for the week ahead. I cook from scratch and rarely put anything in the recycling bin now.

The door art you created is stunning, especially as you photographed the ones you liked yourself during your travels. Very Interesting video, but I did have some trouble hearing your voice because of the volume of the music.

Dear Lynn, Thank you for your kind support. Funny you mention the door art, what you saw was me trying to place the cut outs before gluing. As we speak I just finished to glue all doors, hopefully will frame it tomorrow. Sorry about my voice. Will have to turn it down when I talk😊. 💐❤️

Hello, Thank you for your comment. Here is the recipe, but I usually eyeball 😊 1/2 cup olive oil, 3-4 table spoon vinigar or lemon juice, 1 table spoon mustard, a 1 table spoon of honey or sugar, 3-4 table spoons chopped sundry tomatoes, salt, pepper and dried herbs (oregano, dill) 💐

Hello, may I ask what do you use for canning? It’s been my intention to do a little canning but I’m worried about food poisoning if I don’t do it properly, so I stick to jams 😊! The concept of potato freezing is new to me (I watched your previous video), very interesting!
@Frugalpleasuresinretirement6 күн бұрын
Hello Nadine, I am using an old fashioned method when it comes to canning..😊I grew up in Moldova, during that time we didn’t pressure cookers, all we did is water bath canning on the stove. I prefer this method, because I am used to it, and I know how to… A friend gave me a pressure cooker, but I gave it away as to me is a bit too complicated. Meat canning I do in glass jars in the oven for 2.5 hours. Eventually will make video how I can. I never canned potatoes, just freeze them.

Fascinating video. Today I had some fresh cabbage to use up, so I shredded and boiled al dente, then tossed in a knob of butter, stirred in some chopped up fried bacon, cubed boiled and fried potatoes (the last from the garden), fried diced onions and tomatoes, and topped with grated cheese. Later, for dessert by the fire, a slice of Christmas Stollen cake (use by date 31-Jan-2025!) with vanilla custard and a coffee. Yum!
@Frugalpleasuresinretirement8 күн бұрын
Yum😊, any leftovers?🙏 . Amazing! I should try your meal as I love cabbage. Thank you for sharing. Have a lovely day!

Thank you so much for the recipes and showing indetail how to make each dish. It all looked very good. I do have an usual question...I have never had a canned ham before and you mentioned using one in a previous video. My question is....are they as good as any other ham you buy. I really enjoy your videos so much and you always look so lovely. Oh, and your Christmas tree and decorations on your balcony look so nice. Thank you ❤
@Frugalpleasuresinretirement8 күн бұрын
Hello, Thank you for your kind support and sweet comment. ❤️ It is not a ham like in the store, it just meat in jars. There was pork loin on sale, so I bought, cut in chunks seasoned and canned in glass jars in the oven for 2.5 hours. Whenever I need I just add in my soups or as serve with potatoes, rice, etc. Will make a video eventually. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have. Vera
