The long arm of the Israeli lobby has reached Indiana and thumped the Eskenazi curator on the nose. Spineless. and complicit.

I find your decision to cancel Samia Halaby's retrospective shameful. That decision needs to be reversed.

Interesting on abstract mural paintings of the 1930s. Thanks for curating on "arts as a means for creating a better society." Great topic to think about going into the new year

19:30 that dress is gorgeous, but then again, i vibe more with victorian fashion than georgian, except for haircare and construction, georgian hairstyling is really fun and 1760 daily more pastoral styles look really flattering on a lot of people and the way gowns are constructed really show they creative problem solving

Sainsbury centre.Stunning image I saw today.Beauty.I rename it veil.Window out to sea.Stared for ages went back twice. Very beautiful epic slab of distilled purity.Rothko learned a lot from you but new level here. The only black frame that I've ever seen work well too. The hanging commet is a,pleasure bonus too. Both pieces distilled and perfect.Quiet whispers of power.Much enjoyed thanks.

Not to nitpick but Roth didn't win for Places in the Heart, it was her first Oscar nomination, she won for The English Patient and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. Milo Anderson designed Mildred Pierce in 1945, however Edith Head did design and dress Crawford for her personal appearances.

Anthony Powell is a popular costume designer for his career to make Cruella De Vil's red and black fur coat for Glenn Close in the Disney film 101 and 102 Dalmatians 👏

Fascinating but let’s get it correct, the Sunset Blvd costumes were originally designed for Patti LuPone, the very first Norma Desmond for the original production of Sunset Blvd in London in 1993. LA with Glenn came later.

Anthony was my kind friend. In all the time I knew him he was EXACTLY as he comes across here: kind, intesting, interested and witty. We all miss him. Christmas for me always began when I met him in the kitchen of my friends house each year on Chrismats eve, sitting on the same stool. I shall visit this video at Christmas to remember him.

Simon, I can only say that I'm terribly sorry for your loss. It's going on 3 years now but we never truly "get over" losses, we simply push through them. I would say you're very lucky to have known him, but I'm sure you're aware of that. I'm a young actor myself and can only dream to work with someone of such talent and passion for his craft. Best wishes this coming Christmas season.

I remember the story he told about the costume that Kate Capshaw wore as Willie Scott in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984). Before the production could shoot the opening dance number, he had to file a claim with the insurance about the dress Kate Capshaw had to wear being torn, due to an elephant eating it. He had to write the company that the reason for the damage was "dress eaten by elephant". One of the funniest behind-the-scenes stories I've ever heard.

Love the paintings in this show. As you stated, Stuart Davis was making art for the people, promoting cultural and social equality. It’s ironic that his beautiful mural was rejected. He seems to have taken it in stride, though. He knew his work was good!

Glenn’s costumes for Sunset Blvd are a dream. Powell really outdid himself and the fact the they lost the Tony that year still blows my mind.

I cannot thank you enough for posting this incredible interview. Glenn Close has such incredible respect for the artistry that is costume design. How I wish I could have attended the exhibit; it was my plan to fly to Indiana the week of October 18th for a few days, but I cancelled the trip due to COVID. How I hope there will be another Glenn Close exhibit in the future!!

So insightful and thoughtful. I love your thoughts on beauty as it relates to the images in your work - the banal vs. the sublime. Brilliant!
