In Street Fighter: The Miniatures Board Game, what will be the ruling when the Attacker plays an attack card (strike, projectile, special) and the Defender plays the 'Bait' card?

If you like easier games, I would pick up Imperium + IX (for u liekd it and want more complex games and Immo). If you like more competitive feel than Uprising is a way to go - it's just a way more balanced imo, however, if you add all expansion spies are kinda week except guild fields. I hope this expansion will feel better tbh. that will make Uprising not need for IX.

I've got everything for dune imperium so another expansiom feelsike it could do more for uprising and looking forward to it. I just wish they designed expansions alongside the base games, they obviously new that they would be doing all of this from day 1. I'm happy it can accommodate imperium but glad it is mostly focused on uprising.

There is a gameplay video of the first adventure of Chalices of Power (which is Aventuria 2.0) on KZbin (they had some mistakes in it - you can watch it though). There are also some other Aventuria playthroughs, but those are all for Aventuria 1.0, unfortunately! But Ulisses will provide two scenarios for multiplayer and solomode for download at the crowdfunding page in the next days. The rulebook is already there.

When I bought Uprising, I already owned Original, IX, and Immortality. I took all the cards from base and expansions and took out any cards that required the expansions to play and any duplicate cards. Then I combined all those cards with Uprising cards (removing duplicates from those cards, except those that have to do with spies). Those are the cards I play uprising with. When I get Bloodlines those cards are going in too in a similar way, and I'll be adding tech and compatible cards from Ix as well.

8:42 I feel like all games in recent years feel like this. Very little to no player interaction other than racing to score the public goal first. Make me kinda burned out on newer games and rather exploring games from 2010s.

Looking at my game wall I don't think I own any "campaign games" because the idea of them has sort of intimidated me given my current gaming skills and at $310 CDN plus tax it's kind of a huge jump. But it doesn't hurt to watch video's and learn more about it.

At 27 minutes, the Sand should have done 1 damage to each opponent in the row and the Beast should have only done 2 damage.

Ryan was complaining during the entire playthrough, sometimes you won't get a card you want Ryan There are lots of good games (Ark Nova, Ticket To Ride) where you won't draw the perfect card

Ryan was complaining but he's a good sport. Dramatically announcing the bad luck is part of it. However it can get frustrating when a whole aspect of the game is blocked off from you just because you couldn't draw even one card that does that function.

First off, man, I LOVE THE SHIRT! Not surprised about Seti, and Civolution is just... too long, too much. Hard pass on both of them from a solo player's perspective. The only one that drew my attention was Arydia. I had initially pledged it, then had to ask for a refund because of money issues at the time, and now I could afford it. However, it's still a lot of money. I'll wait to see how much staying power it has. I mean, there are so many campaign games that are a-m-a-z-i-n-g for the first 20ish hours, but then lose steam. I want to make sure the investment is a sound one. In any case, many thanks for your podcast, excellent work, Jeremy!

IMO of all of the Turczi games i've played, this is easily his most underrated. The fact that it launched mid-pandemic combined with rather unexciting box art and a hard to pronounce name did not do it any favours. The amount of decision space and overall strategy is incredibly deep. I read somewhere that David described this as his most nuanced game, and i'd totally agree. It scales amazingly and, in true Turczi fashion, has a great solo bot that plays realistically and doesn't at all feel tacked on. The game isn't perfect - the art isn't amazing, the rulebook can be a little unclear and there's a few micro-rules you need to remember that should really have been noted on the main board or through a player board - but this only slightly detracts from what is a deceivingly deep game. It flew so far under the radar that it can be bought for peanuts nowadays. A definite hidden gem that would really benefit from "deluxification"

@@softboilled It depends on what version do you have/did you play? In short: Overall it (Aventuria 2.0/v2) is a edition and a new start with a "all in one box" concept and a campaign concept. So there is no base box and expansions anymore (only hero sets). And there is no duel anymore, so full focus on adventure mode. This is what upcoming boxes will provide, too. The rules have been put all together and been revised. There a re 6 heroes in it, new variants of the old 6 starting heroes, now with optimized decks, fitting to their profession. Adventures are a bound into a big 60 h campaign, combining adventures from 1.0, revised and fully adopted to the campaign (of course all in director's cut), and totally new adventures. 1.0 and 2.0 are compatible, so heroes from one edition can be used (mostly) in each other. Then there is a solo box, which is a reprint of Nedime and Borbarad, combined with a new hero (Blessed One of Phex) in a standalone solo campaign, Curse of the Desert. As well as 3 totally new hero sets. And in the campaign there is much more stuff to make the boxes even better. Like wooden markers, better inlay, optional deluxe inlay and so on.

44'10" Ryan makes the mistake of unlocking a second bonus when his 'natural -coloured' rail, as well as the locomotive power, both need to be up to value of 10 to be allowed to take that bonus. There have been quite a numerous amount of other mistakes. I still find the playthrough useful but for any new players watching, you need to master the rules of the base game before taking on the modules, as a lot of the mistakes made here stem from a poor understanding of the base game rules.

More of the issue is this: during a livestream you can't really pause the stream to look for a particular rule. Sometimes you get to that moment where you say in your head "wait which way was this" so you can either have the audience wait while you look it up or you roll with it. Sometimes that does lead to rules mistakes and we often rely on chat who will look up rules for us if needed in the middle of the game. If we realized we played something wrong, we try to correct it.

I’m very much interested in Arydia. Just got SETI, played through once. My initial impression is that it’s fun, but the solo AI is a bit confusing. It feels like the solo mode was tacked on. Definitely feels like a game that plays better at higher player counts. So for my second play through I’m going to play double handed.

Arydia is incredible. I'm lucky to be able to leave it setup on a card table in my office and just play it a couple of hours a day here and there. So much fun.

I know this video is a year old now, but I just got the game. The few times I’ve played this, I hear that phrase a lot “oh, I’ve played that wrong” 😂…. And they are different groups.
