I followed this recipe to the letter. I ended up with hoisin that had a treacle-like consistency and was much too sickly sweet. (6 tablespoons of brown sugar as well as 2 tablespoons of honey!!!) Not for me. Sorry

Het zal ongetwijfeld lekker zijn, maar volgens hoort de cake open te barsten van boven en sowieso hoger (maw super luchtig). Gek genoeg heb ik het gegeten bij mensen exact zoals het hoort te zijn, maar hier op you tube zie ik nauwelijks perfecte recepten.

Thank you for this recipe, Our son's girlfriend is gluten intolerant. I have already been able to buy fish sauce, soy sauce and oyster sauce without gluten, but I have to order gluten-free hoisin sauce from who knows where and have it sent to me. Your recipe saves me, because I'd like to make Vietnamese summer rolls with her this weekend. She is very open-minded about Asian cuisine and loves to experiment. Unfortunately, she can't eat many specialities in restaurants because these chefs often have too little experience with gluten-free food. So I have now started adapting my recipes to her diet - she hangs out with us all the time anyway 😅👍🏻... Lots of love from Switzerland 🤗🇨🇭

I have three Ayam Cemani, two of which are roosters. I know that the meat of them is supposed to be extra special, but I can't bring myself to kill any of my chickens. Ah well. I will just have to get one at the store.

I have both chickens and ducks. They lay more eggs than I can use. I usually have no difficulty finding people who want my chicken eggs, but many people here are afraid to use duck eggs even though they are the very best eggs for baked foods. Now I have something to use all those extra duck eggs for!!! I'm making these today using duck eggs I collected today and yesterday. I'll let you know how they turned out in a month or six weeks. They will be there in a jar on my counter tempting me until that time! Thank you for these recipes! These are my introduction to Indonesian cooking.

It gould be a few weeks though, since our local Asian store is out of banana leaves and has to order them. I can't wait!!!
