This may just be me (and that maybe because I've heard the song before) but here's how I hear it/why: I hear it as WSS like you, Cory, but still hear "feel" as stronger than "good." But here's the "why": in the final verse, Brown slides all the way up to D before going back down to F as normal.

The ubiquitousness of it in the 90s makes it hard to realize that very few people under 25 know it now, let alone understand that the song was everywhere. And I just realized that it and Mr. Brightside, another UK anthem, don't have 2nd verses.

YOU ARE WRONG ABOUT THE 7/8. ATTENTION. HOW DO WE GET THE CREATORS ATTENTION? Yeah hi there mister creator. Great video. Actually if you keep counting after the pause, you see that the drums come back perfectly in time. So first of all - for me, not only it is not disorienting or challenging in any way, but calming, comforting and makes sense. I hate when they don't keep the tempo after a pause, as much as I love to hear this crash and bass landing spot on the downbeat. This is why it is so important for me that you see this comment and approve! Anyway, I pray to god you notice that: there IS a clear tempo here, the fill does NOT start on the downbeat (particularly not "so clearly" lol), and that is WRONG; wonderwall does NOT contain a single or any bar of 7/8!

i really appreciate that you went into so much detail about the drums, because i tend to forget about them usually, and now i realize more about the song. (and also inspires me to look more into the drums in britpop because i don't listen to very much >_>)

To me, be best example of vibe lyrics is (good) rap music. Love the Beatles but I literally clicked on this expecting a dissection of Beastie Boys' Egg Man. I'm kind of amazed the entire genre was dismussed with a quick hand wave about Blakaliscous's masterpiece Blazing Arrow. Here's an example of excellent vibe lyrics: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sH-3ZImioKucjdUsi=HP0QeIFLTLoecn0u

why is the solo played over the key of Em, if that scale has en Am chord in it, which doesn´t sound good, it doesn´t fit? The Em scale chord progression sounds better with and Amaj.

I actually don't think the use of "f*gs" during the bridge is pointless. Billy Joe Armstrong is openly an openly bisexual man who has been protesting homophobic legislature for decades, and I think he was making a point about that with the use of that particular word. A lot of people forget that homophobia was still very much the norm in the 2000s - to the point that straight guys who kept themselves well-groomed were called "metrosexual". BJA also described himself as "the f****t America" in American Idiot, juxtaposing his queerness with "the redneck agenda". I really don't think it was just edgy for the sake of being edgy, but rather a pointed political statement.

The thing that hurts the most about this song is that even if you were a good dad, it still makes you feel like you should have done more. I've got 2 kids, they're amazing and we get along great. We did things all the time, have great memories, and plans for the future. This song still makes me regret the times I had to work 60 hours a week even though I made the conscious effort to double down on kid time whenever possible. Ugh.

Wonderwall is an amazing song wtf you talkin about hahaha. One advantage of having 0 social media, blocking adds everywhere and in general procuring privacy is that I always get to judge things by myself as I do not get to hear anyone's opinions often. I always thought that song is good and always will.

No you should do one of the more obscure ones, there are so many amazing tracks. I agree, I love pop, and it's changing, I certainly didn't used to. I think creativity can show up in any genre, it's not like the artists are specifically choosing the genre. They're influenced by certain sounds, and then other people package them up.
@frankross99063 күн бұрын
Do artists think about all of these things while writing these songs or just go with what they think sounds good?
@kg72193 күн бұрын
Some do some don’t but with Noel he has said in interviews he just lets music come out of him. Whatever that looks like for him is smth we can’t rly kno. Also thinking abt what happens between recording a demo and the final studio and mixing sesh anything can happen. With Noel tho I feel like he rly doesn’t let people in on his process as much as other artists so long story short I have no idea. Personally it depends on what I want out of a song sometimes I write record in one session and it’s done and I don’t tinker with it with other songs I have an intention and build on it. Sometimes a mix of both. Just depends on the song and the artist as well as if u kno theory and production or just play what sounds good ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
