even 6 years later, i keep coming back to this video every single night. jikwoo kim has had such a profound impact on my life. since the release of this video, ive gotten a job, had kids, and i even have two wives. this is thanks to jikwoo’s performance in this short but enlightening video experience. jikwoo has even helped me through my lows as my father passed away a couple years ago. through my grieving, it was jikwoo, in his eminence, who gave me the emotional strength to move forward. if there’s ever a chance that someone as incredible as jikwoo kim would happen to see this, i would just like to say: Thank You. I speak from the hearts of myself and the many people I’m sure you’ve given the strength to live life to the fullest. i don’t see myself ever missing a day where i don’t see jikwoo kim, trumpet in hand, fighting to change the world.

when i first saw this i thought it was incredible because of the tone quality, phrasing, and breath control, but now i have a friend who is a bassonist and i understand how difficult it is to get those high notes sounding this immaculate. HUGE respect, this sounds amazing
