Hello! My name is Tony and I ruin movies! ESPECIALLY the ones I love! And this is a top 3 movie of all time and the aesthetic of my childhood! So I am going to point out stupid shit that nobody cares about. It's just for grins, so if you get the urge to get your titties twisted, don't. Just laugh a little and have some fun! (or ignore me). 1) BULLSHIT DOJO Okay, the franchise paints Karate in the Valley to basically be like Football in Texas. So how is it that two literal guys off the street can enter this very popular, highly regimented, timed, judged, and coordinated tournament without any evidence of existing? The governing body would require proof of a dojo's existence, records of insurance, hold harmless agreements to protect themselves from liability, all sorts of shit. 2) Miyagi is still smart, right? I know he isn't a tournament guy. He is used to real karate where you fight only defend yourself. But still, he had to understand that the tournament would be somewhat regulated, right? He was in the Dojo, he saw how they were dressed, He even went out and purchased a Gi and had it monogramed. But he didn't know that there would need to be a belt or that he would have to register in a particular division?! Cmon Miyagi... you are better than this! 3) Security "Official"- Did this very long 2 hour+ movie really need this scene where they fool the securty guy into letting Ali (with an "i") on the floor?! Because might be the most useless script bloating in any of the films. There is literally no need for the guy to challenge them for being on the floor. When they walk past him, literally all you see are random fans, spectators and other clearly useless fucking people. So why concern yourself with one guy entering the floor when everyone else is just milling around? Obviously, he knew Miyagi was legit because he's "old and Asian". Ali is litearlly dressing him as. he walks. This interaction is beyond stupid. 4) Seats- In addition to everything in #3, the fucking bleachers for fans are ONLY accessible from the floor! So literally everyone needs to go down to the "Competition floor". 5) First Fight- WTF!? Why does Ali start cheering and the ref call the fight after the second point? Ali was the one who explained the rules. The ref knows the goddamn rules and every other fight lasts 3 points. Not sure why this one was called early (I do. It's shitty editing. Nobody is safe). 6) Black Belts? How THE ACTUAL FUCK is this a black belt tournament?! Most of these suckers lose points just standing there watching Danielsahn or the Cobra Kai contestant as they hit them. Most of them don't make even the smallest attempt to block or evade the hit. There is no way that any of these fuckers are black belt quality. 7) First Aid WFT is Miyagi doing? Why is he putting strips of tape on Daniels abdomen in between matches? He is hurt becasue he's getting punched and kicked there. What the fuck good is TAPE going to do for a bruising injury? He shows us later that he can use demon sorcery to conjure healing powers. Why not use them now? He does want Daniel to win, right? 8) Poor Vidal Vidal was the only real quality Karate student. They show that he as an absolute bad-ass with far more skill than any of the principal cast. So why do they have him go out like a bitch in the semi-final? I know.... I know... They have to make Johnny appear more menacing than he actually was. But lets be real, all of the Cobra Kai and Daniel are clearly only advancing in the tournment because the script says so. They really should not have let Vidal show how good he was because the end result looks hilariously manufactured. 9) No Way--- Kreese's entire life is about Cobra Kai, and the number one student he has ever taught is the undefeatable John Lawrence. He has a serious revenge boner to stick it to Miyagi and Daniel for besting his students. There is no way he settles for a medical scratch from Daniel rather than have Johnny fight him. Sure, maybe he's actually impressed with Daniel and actually afraid John can lose, but he has shown to be over the top confident and even more prideful. There is no way he risks his Dojo's eligibility, gets another one of his stars DQed, all to accept an empty win against a no-name dojo.
