Though the footage is of African tribes, the giant fortress walls, riders atop barded horses and the sprawling huts in the village give you a better authentic sense of medieval Europe than any re-creation could ever hope to accomplish. There are many differences, yes, but the soul is there.

Probably but they decided to use videos of African tribes for some reason
@Mr_Bunk9 ай бұрын
@@nopieok7718Because at the time of this footage, the kingdoms and tribes of Africa had more in common with the culture and flavour of Medieval Europe than its colonialist descendants could ever hope to have.

Thank you for the wonderful performance! Can I ask how you have tuned your lyre?
@VulgarisVox Жыл бұрын
Thank you! The real Trossingen lyre only has 6 strings but this has 7 + 1 drone. The strings are tuned: E (the drone), G, A, B, C, D, E, F.

This is a re-upload right? I'm sure I've heard you play this before.
@VulgarisVox Жыл бұрын
Yes, this is already on FB and twitter but I wanted to have all lyre videos on the open net too so will upload a few more soon. In part as a preparation for an article I'm writing about reconstructing ancient Greek lyre playing playing (sadly, also the reason I haven't played much lyre lately)

Glad to see that you still make astonishing music, keep up the incredible work! I remember seeing you guys play live at a medieval festival as a kid in the early 2000 and "The Shape Of Medieval Music To Come" is still one of my most cherished albums I own and the cover containing part of the triptych from "The Garden Of Earthly Delights" was also my first introduction to Hieronymus Bosch and his incredible art, much love and respect to all you guys and thanks for the great memories and inspirations over the years!✌❤

But even if you don't make another cd I'm sure it's going to be absolutely beautiful musical experience non the less! Hope you and the rest of group have a great continuation to you week!

All oi can say is that antone with a theologicsl/spiritual background could view yhe writhing person as demon possessed. What possessed you to use such imagery on tandem with this music? Curious indeed. Like the music, wuestionable imagery
