Yeah the bearhug hold is a basic simple move that can even an opening to the one doing the hood but if it’s done right it can actually be a effective and dangerous move.

JB Priestley... Some friends called to his house... Wanting to invite him down the pub.. His wife came to the door saying... 'He is not in' They walked away but beyond the fence they heard the clacking of a typewriter They went back.. She answered the door.. 'Er Mrs Priestley We can hear him typing' 'JB The Writer is in... Your friend is not!'

If you're very lucky, you might meet some Blimp as you go through life. He'll be recognizable by his leonine courage, a heart as huge as the whole world and the utter inability to carry a grudge one microsecond beyond the cessation of hostilities. There really are such people

I believe that there are. They exist on another plain and can see with a clarity that the rest of us cannot. We need these people, because their hearts are large and they cannot see but good.

At first one is inclined to thinking what a wealthy indulgent, self-absorbed dreamer. Then, we see his sponsorship of that 1930s ballet with the associated legendary names of art and dance albeit expensively paid for to win back his estranged wife is a fairytale of passion like none other. Again, with his sponsorship he will have assisted the surrealists a great deal of which work is glorious particularly, for me, René Magritte's ironic work. A large institutional framed print of Dali's thought-provoking Christ of St. John of The Cross hung in my UK school chapel and in childhood it was always moving on sitting staring opposite at that religious Dali during Sunday Chapel. Edward James’s indulgent wealthy rich dreamy life played out as it did was not entirely a selfish life. His extraordinary folly building supplied employment to the mexican locals for example. And, then there was his foundation for the teaching of traditional arts and crafts. Thanks :-)

During that scene Richard Widmark was behind director Jules Dassin digging his fingers into Dassin's shoulder because he thought the old man was really dying. Well, the old man lived another 18 years (dying at age 88) and laughing at how the Hollywood actor thought he was actually dying!
