Hi, I wanted to ask if you have had the chance to feed rabbits with hooked bristlegrass?

Hey! Just found the channel and watched the first video regarding the cabin. Wish this series was kept up. Would've loved to see the process of finishing it. An update would be really nice. Hope all is well

Looks beautiful! I hope you love it. The creek sounds terrific. Not only for a water source, but maybe to turn a very small hydro-generator. I am all for solar, but the water flows day and night.

Look into a ram pump in your creek, it will pump water to your place if not to far away.

Great video! My wife and I are on 3/4 of an acre most of it is wooded at the moment with some big pine trees and bush growth unfortunately. We want everything you have in this video though. A couple pigs, couple dwarf goats and some rabbits. We already have some chickens and we’re currently building our 20x25 hoop house. We were a little concerned we would be able to raise everything we wanted most people have 10 acres or more with everything we want so this was a great video I’ll be showing the wife tomorrow.

What kind of pigs are you keeping?
@vincentfamilyhomestead9469 Жыл бұрын
We have been keeping Kune Kune, but will probably move to a more traditional meat pig.

Everything seems to have survived. We will have to watch and see how the small callards do. Hopefully they will bounce back.

Nice honey haul!! Tfs 👍🏻👍🏻 Hoping to get bees next year. I’ve been seeing Australian government and others killing off thousands and thousands claiming there to be a virus that they call Veroa mite. Since when is a mite a virus and why are killing so many when there are treatments for it? It’s a terrible situation. Just curious what you think about this.
@vincentfamilyhomestead94692 жыл бұрын
I am a treatment free keeper. We are raising a strand of naturally resistant bees from Virginia.

Rabbits eat all kinds of stuff not just grass dry them some stinging nettle(dried) , cherry branches, Rasberries with the fruit on it, they eat also . Hazelnut tree cuttings. Mothers need a verity for healthy babies. They also eat dandalion mint. Try foraging more than just grass.
@vincentfamilyhomestead9469 Жыл бұрын
What you call grass may not be what we call it. There is much more than one variety in our "lawn". ;)

@vincentfamilyhomestead9469 Жыл бұрын
Rabbit pellets are essentially dried and pelletized grass. I am also experimenting with drying my own forage for them for over winter.
