Ronny, This is an excellent instructional video, and I feel fairly well-armed to learn the overhead cast. I appreciate that you condensed the key elements without adding fluff, but I feel like I need to fully understand everything you say. You use one term I am not familiar with, pendling. What does this mean? Thanks!

Coming from a chalk stream trout background and just starting salmon fishing upstream feels perfectly natural and more comfortable than swinging flies😂

Wow, as an instructor, you are way ahead of everyone I have seen yet. Where are you from. At times, I find myself repeating what you just said, but with Arnold's voice. Great video in so many ways. Anyone ever noticed it is the same thing with all instructional video? When the experts try to show how to do it wrong. They just cannot pull it off like the rest of us. Lol.

I agree that this presentation is the best of the many I have seen. The instructions are clear and concise. The video shows the fly line clearly and the slow motion makes the entire presentation first cabin quality. Congratulations from the beautiful Trinity River in northern California.

Beautiful video and superb fishing skills. What fly line set up are you using , in what make is it and is it a sink tip line, what is your length of leader, i will try this next season in my salmon club river. Many thanks.

What else is a fly line loop other than an illusion of a straight line that is withheld in one end, while the other is travelling from A to B, du to the speed it has got by a throwing movement from the hand, extended through the rod!

This is an old film, at the time an #8 was ok for pike, now i personally recoment at least a #9, if you throw very big flies and fish big pike waters i would go even with #10

great instructional video. I am new to spey casting and commonly find areas just as you demonstrated: steep banks, trees, drop offs that make wading impossible. The Circle C cast is exactly what I needed to learn. thank you for such fundamental yet very common tactics.
