What a helpful, comprehensive way of explaining how to ‘read’ Catasetums! Thank you so much.😊. I have only one, but it’s a beauty and have been struggling with applying the norms. I hope I haven’t damaged it and it does well for me this year. It has 3 back bulbs that look like they are at the end of their ropes, a full growth that seems fully grown, and a tiny growth on one of the other shrivelly bulbs, but the roots (while there are many) haven’t reached the 4” rule yet. I moistened the media, slightly, a week or two ago and now one full grown leaf looks like it is shriveling. I went ahead and gave it water because I think it’s time and that it needs it, but really wasn’t sure how to go about continuing a watering schedule. I’ll watch the back bulbs -I hope they replump, and go by that for now. It is potted using the PET method and has a small reservoir on the bottom, but the longest root is only halfway there. I guess the roots will continue growing and reach it eventually, probably? I think I have a good start? 🤷🏼‍♀️. I think the only thing I am certain of is its heavy feeding nature and to fill the reservoir if it is empty. Oh, I gave it a small amount of calcium and potassium after its watering today. I guess it’s time to learn much more about Catasetums, since it lived through its dormancy and might live through the growing season. It is Ctsm.Mo. Painted Desert X (Ctsm Painted Desert X espansum). Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you, in advance.

Yay I have but one Br. N. x Walkeriana. I know nothing about them, but to water when dry which seems to work, as I've noticed 3 new growths from the bottom today during watering time. Im thrilled as we're in Autumn now, so I never know what to expect. LOL Thanks for the video.

I get it. But there are people buying orchids at the grocery store who think they have a species orchid because someone as clueless as they are told them that. The same question gets asked on Reddit at least 10 times a day and I think knowledgeable people are getting tired of doing research for them, it really isn’t about snobbery. The wholesale growers could do a better job of tagging plants, which would reduce some of the confusion. To me, it’s still a beautiful orchid whether or not it’s a known variety.

Is it expected to break some hairs when doing that? I recently started using these tools on beginner locks; I’ve gotten them very tight for only being 3 weeks in; was awkward in the mirror at first, then sense of touch does fine after I got the hang of it; However I do hear some ripping at times and I feel like I’m going it wrong?

Smart phone are their to help you even in the kitchen. If you have to find a recipe then it is most of the time on line. Why are you going to inconvenient yourself by not doing things the correct way. You are not trying to prove a point by doing that. All you are doing is saying “I love to inconvenient myself.” That is the point that you are trying to make. Most people will laugh at you anyways for having a dumb phone in today’s society. Yes. We were once their but you can not bring back the 1970’s and 1980’s. Those days are gone. Yes. We all start out with a dumb phone but why did the smart phone become a reality. And if you go to the post office I am sure your going to inconveneients yourself and the postal person by having to print up a code and then take that little piece of paper to them it doesn’t make sense. It is a hassle and why would you go back the old fashioned way. Even at the bank. Using the smart phone over the reader rather than pulling your wallet out getting your card trying to search for it it takes a hell of a lot longer. Going to order food now days is with smart phones. So yo are making yourself look really stupid with these justifications. And phone books are a laugh cause nobody has those anymore. Going to the library you don’t find books on the shelves anymore. If you want to kook something up you have to have a smart phone or look at the digital readers that they have so it doesn’t make sense what you are saying. It is not valid. I mean if you want to switch to a regular cell phone or dub phone that is your prof but don’t try and say that smart phones are a drug and you can’t live in the present with them. And just out let y and just to let you know I am a professional musician and you can’t become a professional musician in under 14 year.s I am a working pianist. It takes a long time. And smart phones are not the cause of your stupidity. If you have such a problem with your phone then you get off of it but don’t try and say that the smart phone is the cause of your illness. I switch to a dumb phone because my anxiety with having a smart phone was too much for me to handle and since having the dumb phone, my life has changed for the better I’m less anxious. I very rarely check my phone because it’s just for emergencies and basics.
