Dad saw Eddie and Gene in Bristol, I wasn't even born, I was born 1965, but Dad told me about the Show,Dad was very young, he was born 1944, so I guess he was 16. Chippenham is only 11 miles from me in Bristol. So sad. Its so easy to cry 😢 over Eddie's death and what happened. The photos of Sharon and Gene was so sad, when they returned back to America. Heartbreaking 💔

We are due to come in early November for 3 nights. What is the area outside the hotel like? We are arriving by train. It looks like it's away from the main town . Are there buses and trains available?
@OceanHops

@robinpunter4377 Hi Robin. Yes, it took 20mins to walk to the Albert Dock area and not the most scenic route! There's nothing close outside the hotel grounds, at least not 2 yrs ago when we were there. I don't know about trains but I would assume buses run along the road outside as it's the main road out of Liverpool to get to Bootle. But the hotel itself was a great stay. Thanks for watching 👍

1960 i was in the audience ( age18) to see Gene vincent ,but Eddie was not on the show that sat night. I was with my girl and a few friend's. One of my buddies who was there with me lives in California and is famous .He sent me a clip pic taken from his car as he drove into Albert Lea to give a guitar seminar. The owner of the motel was amazed when he booked in and took him on a tour of the town visiting many of Eddies fav spots. The reason for his amazement is because my buddy ( he is 80 now ) His name is Albert Lee.😊

I was also a big fan of EC and Gene Vincent. I am 78 now and so fortunate to have been present with the birth of rock 'n roll. I got Be Bop a Lula on a 78 rpm record for Christmas. What a time for real music. Buddy Holly with Peggy Sue was incredible. Bill Haley, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, I could go on for hours. Thank you for this video as I knew how EC died but I was not aware of his popularity in England. I am a native Texan from Houston, hello to England.
