You do not understand BC. The BC is fixed for a projectile. The only way the BC can change is if the weight changes or shape changes. After the projectile leaves the barrel, the weight and shape is fixed.

Brand new to pcp air rifles. Happen to catch your video. Do you still like Air Venturi Avenger and Avenge X products or should I look at other brands. By the way I know where your coming from. I retired a few yrs ago as an elec. tech and was in charge of Fanuc robots at a auto forging and assembly plant. Who knows we might of worked together at one time.

The sad thing is that almost EVERY manufacturer of everything beta tests products on customers. I hate being someones free R&D so I never buy brand new products... I research and watch videos like this before I spend the money I work hard for. That said, my .25 original avenger has been amazing and a great gun especially for the money. Pellet on pellet and never leaks. I appreciate you being 100% on this though. Takes courage to be honest when there's so much money in lying 😂

With a new gun it's worth pulling several cleaning patches through the barrel, it's often surprising how much stuff is inside there from the factory. Adding a drop of silicone lube through the air transfer port is good once in a while, but be sparing or you can get excessive dieseling (lots of smoke) and detonations. Better to load a pellet before firing, dry firing is needlessly harsh on your scope and the rifle internals. I don't use super lightweight lead free pellets for the same reason, they cause the piston to slam, they are loud and generally inaccurate.

Very informative, thank you. Could it be possible that the coil spring itself and how it is twisted forces the rifle a certain way when it releases its energy? I've bought a break barrel gasram from gamo and this rifle seems to perform at its best if I barely hold it, if I just let the material speak for itself.

I'm not going to say that it is a bad product just because it did not work out for me. I personally found it to be very fiddley. It took time to get the end of the pen lined up with the bore. I could load a single pellet much faster by hand and did not see any accuracy change.

I realize this video is 4 years old but I just wanted to say: Don't waste your money on small cans of the dry lube. The DUPONT dry lube with ceramic technologies is a much better buy and a can will lube no less than 10,000 pellets. It works as good if not better than the 3 in1 dry lube. It results in tighter shots just like the 3 in 1 dry lube. The Dupont dry lube also increased my .177 pellets as much as 50 FPS. I just thought I would put that out there.

Awesome. Have you tested any lead free ammo with your break barrel? Many of the 'green' type pellets seem to be too lightweight for use in springer or gas ram airguns, some .22s are under 10gr and for a .22 pellet that's just not enough mass/inertia to prevent the piston slamming harshly. There are lead free pellets which are a bit heavier, H&N Baracuda Green ~13gr look like they are worth accuracy testing. ZAN lead free .22 slugs are 15gr.

It’s not a first or second ‘zero’. It’s knowing your ‘hold’ on a distance. We can only have one true zero on our optic at a specific distance/muzzle velocity/projectile weight.

When a keyboard warrior thinks the understands something. Higher muzzle velocity means projectiles go farther faster. Higher bc means projectiles retain velocity longer and therefore travel farther. You didnt have good groups. Your groups were dogshit. The faster a projectile goes and the heavier it is the more energy it has so higher a higher bc means more energy is retained at a distance which means the bc is directly related to energy retainment.

Origin .25 or .22? The reason I ask, I have the .22 and a buckrail moderator and the only thing that can be heard from it is the ping of the hammer spring hitting the valve. Unbelievably quiet as long as I don't go supersonic. That gun was the beginning of a huge change in my collection. I've become addicted to these PCP airguns. If you live in a city like I do, this is more than 10x the fun of grabbing a firearm and going to a range to deal with unknown strangers and RSOs

There was a mention of tunes being different depending on the elevation. That makes sense but I never really thought of that before.. Is there a general rule/principle for guidance for adjusting the tune when changing elevation where the initial tune and performance were done at a known elevation?

Once lubed, is sorting by head size and weight less critical for improved accuracy? I ask because anecdotally JSB pellets seem to shoot more uniformly regardless, likely because they are lubed, and lubing seems to be more practical and less time consuming for small game hunting and plinking to zero scopes.
