Great video man as usual awesome information. Bull pups just seem like a lot of work to shoot accurately. You make it look easy.

I don't believe its recoil. I think your hand is helping stabilize the rifle as you pull the trigger. Bullpups are short and tall. Also the mag. sets way back from the trigger. This is a challenge compared to a traditional rifle. You have more leverage to move the rifle and it cants very easy. The key for me has been to really focus on the cross hairs. Don't blink and make sure the cross hairs are exactly on the target at the moment the trigger is pulled. Focus only on the scope and target. Good luck.

Wow! Nice results.Can you even call that a group how tight it was lol? I was going through the same feelings once I found the best way to hold/position my black stock springer hatsan mod 125.Find mid point where it won’t tilt neither forward and backward,shoulder it so it barely touches your shoulder,then “squeeze” the trigger-don’t pull or jerk.This is what works for me and the rifle I have.

I know you don’t need my confirmation but I won hundred percent agree with you. And I am definitely going to try this with my Benjamin bulldog. I’ve held it every and each way I could. And although I get good groups I feel they should be a lot tighter. Super good idea and information

I have the same type air rifle in 30cal whith the heavy spring in it and obviously more power than a .25.I've tried diffrent holds on it and found that just resting it on the gun rest or just cradeling out in the military hold works perfect. Shoots nerly hole in hole every time!

I have been shooting my 2 taipan veterans .22 and .25 cal bullpups and my kalibrgun cricket .25 for several years now and have no problems with recoil. All of them have Lothar Walther barrels and CZ barrels. Maybe its AEA's barrel that giving you inconsistent shots. PCP airguns have very little recoil if not any at all and an artillery hold is not needed unlike a break barrel springer. An artillery hold should unrested from a bag.

@ShootTechSysteminc 3 жыл бұрын
Not about barrel. This AEA gun putout twice energy by your said type. So have a little recoil. Like .22lr.

The more violent a bullpup is the more a person anticipates it, and more flinching occurs. Traditional rifles separate a person from that. Which increases accuracy. Still dont understand why that mount, which designed to absorb the dual direction recoil to save the scope from rattling apart, does any thing for accuracy. Also, the artillery hold allows the rifle to recoil straight back, limiting muzzle flip before the pellet exits the barrel. This will work with non-bullpups just as much as bullpups, IMHO.

I've been shooting bullpups for several years and never have had an issue. I hold everything light and let it kick anyway, so maybe that's it. I'm still confused on why the trigger linkage has anything to do with recoil. There's a rod that runs from the trigger blade to the rest of the action further back known to make triggers a little less sensitive and it can make the trigger pull harder which could make you pull shots, or mess it up if the rod is bent, but what does that have to do with what's going on after the gun has already fired, the trigger has been pulled, it's over, the recoil comes next after the trigger is pulled. I'm confused on what point you're trying to make on why the trigger rod inside the gun has anything to do with the recoil. I've had mine out, one got bent a little, straightened it back out and the trigger is fine, it's never had anything to do with the recoil.

Its way the gun recoils...with longer linkage and balance point than standard rifle configuration...it acts and recoils like a break barrel .....its about timing and harmonics
@slowpokeairgunner4027
@slowpokeairgunner4027 3 жыл бұрын
@@ALLABOUTAIRGUNS Harmonics are different on every gun, putting a piece of rubber on the barrel and sliding it back and forth will let you find the right harmonics if it's an issue. It depends on the gun, it's not all bullpups, mine are balanced pretty much the same place as my regular guns, in front of the trigger guard, they shoot the same if I hold them tight or loose. I just prefer to hold it lightly and let it kick because I'm more comfortable, it takes out my personal screw up issues of pulling and pushing on the gun in different directions while pulling the trigger while I'm holding it tight. I practice a lot with a springer and the hold I use transfers over to my pcp's Any gun has its balance point, it may be your particular gun or model that likes the military hold, but I would never go as far as saying that all bullpups have to be held and shot the same way mine is just because mine shoots best for me personally that way, it's kind of like me saying that all 25 cal bullpups must shoot the Air Arms 25.4 gr Diabolo pellets because mine shoots them best, it gives me the best harmonics so it is what has to be shot with all bullpups. I could go as far as to say that they all shoot them best because the head size and shape create harmonics they like best to make it shoot better, but that's just not factual for all bullpups. All guns are different, some like being held tight, others don't. For me, it's more about comfortability and holding the gun the same way and since I shoot a break barrel pretty often it makes sense that I can shoot better that way, it's what I'm used to and how I've trained my muscle memory for it. I shoot best that way, but the guns shoot the same if I grip them tight and off a rest as long as I focus on doing the rest the way I normally do.

@@slowpokeairgunner4027 your shooting style and mine are total different, I mean at 100yd + I am hitting playing cards with my 22cal/25cal Avengers and I hit playing cards 50+ yards with break barrels....so I mean I know how to read barrels for rifling and harmonics to be the most accurate possible and when artillery hold is used and precision is increased ...the harmonics/vibrations are dampened...this was just a testing video I did and my conclusions were true

Theres no way possible the linkage has anything to do with the amount of recoil.You could use a 20' piece of rebar with a hook on it and pull the trigger and the gun will have no more added recoil.It all is because of the balance caused by where you have to hold and shoulder the gun,and where the scope is mounted in reference to the barrel.
@StuLau

Your thumb is damping the vibration on the barrel. Add a barrel band near the end and it does the same as your thumb

There’s hardly any recoil with that gun. There is no reason you can’t get hole in hole results at that short distance. Clean the barrel, and practice
