Never saw the Masters use two hammers to set the wedge and iron. Amazing period pieces they made without the pair.

Many layers and leather are fine but use sharp needles or you'll make a mess when one breaks. Throw them out when you start to feel extra resistance. Regards.

I can't find this template on the forum. I only found the one on the left for the pebble shooter, so without the link... it makes this video useless.

You can also put galvanized metal in muriatic acid DONT BREATH THE FUMES PRODUCED. You will see the metal change color as the galvanization comes off. Then neutralize the acid with baking soda and a little water then you can weld it with a lot less risks

Just a suggestion, but use your yellow mallet on all your leather drive tools - punches, rivet setters, etc. So you don't damage them. Otherwise, great job! You learn more, the more you do...

Thanks for the breakdown. I keep falling further down the old tool rabbit hole. I just came into a lot of wooden and transitional planes. This will come in handy for some of them.

Be really difficult to change the blade or take it back out for sharpening since you put loctite on the studs that go to the iron. I personally would have put the loctite on the other side of the studs that go to the nuts.

Hello. We are a French group on the internet that is interested in turpentine for health. Are there any specialists here to whom I can ask questions to understand the differences in the manufacturing of the products? You can send me a message, thank you all

A Stanley no6 or what people call the foreplane may have a flat iron with no camber but traditional wood bodied foreplanes have a large camber.

I just got a complete Wards Master 45 in almost unused condition - the only thing missing was the manual. They are clearly Stanley mad 45s, but as you note, they can be had for far less money.
