your SWR readings on two different coaxial cables RG-213 / Velocity Factor .66, LMR-400 / Velocity Factor .84. Additionally, were your cable lengths exactly the same? Taking this into account, did you zero your Analyzer with a Short/Open/Load (50 ohms) ??? If you didn’t, the readings aren’t accurate! BTW, real LMR-400 if purchased from Times Microwave is superior to RG-213.

The ground wire on your grounding box looks very poor to me. I don’t run my indoor bonding bar outside as that gives lightning a path into the house. I bond everything in shack together and depend on the units with three wire plugs to ground at main breaker box.

I purchased the Scantenna and it performs great. I use it on a mag mount for my Uniden SDS 100 when traveling. Everything in my area is encrypted so the only opportunity I get to scan is during a road trip. I keep the Scantenna, and related scanner equipment, in a bag so I just pick up and go. I would try the 2m/440 antenna but I already have an NMO roof mount antenna installed on roof center.

Agreed - Icom as well as many OEM's have WAY OVERPRICED accessories!!! Many of which ought to be included with the radio itself. (sigh)

The only reason you bond your equipment is for electrical. What you did serves no purpose. The ground rod must be bonded to the ground rod at the mains. It just run your ground wire to the grounding rod at the mains. Lightening ground is worthless. Disconnect your coax. Any stray RF is an outside issue.

Thank you for giving a good overview & thank you for helping others to understand that different people with different needs/goals/constraints may choose to use different types of cable for valid reasons. The best choice in one situation may not be the best choice in another. This presentation helps people to make informed decisions.

I went through the entire process for it to tell me I am unauthorized to open MyView? I don't wish to purchase anything, from your video you state in a few days you get the ability to open my view portal insinuating it's automatic. can you elaborate on this? was it a simple email to them to get it open? immediately confused.

Looks great. Your shack ground rod should be bonded to your home ground rod though to prevent ground loops, provide a low impedance path to ground, and equalize voltage potentials.

Looks great, but might I add that you use a bronze grounding connector on the ground rod. It would be much better if you used a single barrel lug to attach the #8 to your ground bus.

I don't know who actually manufactures this antenna, but I have seen the Comet CHA-250, the Diamond BBV-7 and the Jetstream JTV680. Same package, just a different name printed on the big plastic envelope. I got one used at a hamfest, the Jetstream versions, and it says nothing about minimum recommended elevation when installed. Mine is up 10 feet and my SWR matches their specs except on 10 & 6 meters. I consider it a utility antenna. I run FT4 & FT8 on mine primarily on the 60M/40M/30M/20M bands at 5 - 15 watts. It works. tThe he tilted full-wave loop for 40 meters with a tuner at my last QTH worked better, but my urban lot is too small for that antenna. I seldom rate anything on the questionable (x) Stars out of 5, but maybe a 4 out of 5? The poor performance above 20 meters was disappointing, but I have other antennas there... I don't understand 1 thing here, so help me out. As this antenna is typed as a Ground plane antenna (as a lot 1/4 wave verticals are) I don't get what are you using for the ground plane? Otherwise you would need radials.
