Unfortunately not everyone on the server is innocent after all. You might not want to keep that thumbnail.

So the long and the short of it is it does well because it's people playing Minecraft instead of some other far inferior game they hacked together from Minecraft's engine lol

I could never get into Hermit and stuff like Yogscast as a kid. I don’t understand why, but maybe I was edgy back then and thought they weren’t cool. 😂

Interestingly enough, this video was recommended to me a year after its release. Anyways, I do have one thing to add: The Hermits are all very mature, and I doubt an immature person would be allowed on the server. This ties into the drama point: There is little to no drama because this maturity and respect is so ingrained into the server. An example: Just yesterday, Grian and Gem posted their respective footage of the game they made for Skizz to win back the items they "borrowed". They made sure to check in with Skizz before endangering those items. And they explicitly told their audience that they did so - simultaneously keeping drama among fans to a minimum and teaching especially younger fans about the importance of consent. This is one of the things I love most about the server.

About Tumble, you said that it's the same than Spleef, but I disagree for 2 (3) reasons: - First, there aren't evil shovels which break 20 blocks per second, It works with the player's cps. - Second, the gap... or ping from the old services of Wii U and PS3 consols. - Occasionally, we play with controller (Wii U gamepad, PS3 controller). It's actually quite funny to see that we all have completely different control parameters. 😄 I think Tumble and Spleef are completely different. There are more than two play style as I've seen in Spleef... I'll let you check these videos if you'd like to make up your own mind: - PS3 kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKKYoKKJmc6VqNUsi=QqEx04J5RgC_0VRC - Wii U (PS3 player) kzbin.info/www/bejne/mX_Lo5iZqMd5n80si=fkoWMcxlMGUBtvN6 - Wii U kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5-vfmqFh7uhrcUsi=gWZMHJQtYWYeVinE Personally when I watch a Spleef gameplay, I know that I can't win easily even if I'm playing against a beginner. However I'm the same type than those in this videos... What about you ?

I think what was said at the very end is the root of Hermitcrafts success: All the hermits are there because they have fun doing hermit things. Nearly all of them began making minecraft videos before that was a viable job. They did it because they loved it, and they still do it because they still love it. No amount of chasing views, clicks, and clout will be able to compensate for genuine love of the game. None of them are here to be influencers, and that is what makes them so influential.

Hermitcraft is the Skyrim of Minecraft. It's comfort food - a simple meal well made. While things like Lifesteal, Content SMP, 100 days, etc is fun and exciting, Hermitcraft *feels like home*

This exact reason is why I had to stop watching Xisuma, Hermitcraft is mostly a politics free space that attracts a young and impressionable audience, and over time i noticed Xisuma would increasingly bring up figures such as Joe Rogan or Elon Musk as if they were authoritarive, trustworthy or unbiased figures which is a bit counter to the ethos of Hermitcraft considering Elon champions many far or alt-right talking points and conspiracies and Joe Rogan regularly provides a platform for ideologues to put forward baseless claims without checking the validity of these claims, allowing impressionable followers of Xisuma to be exposed to disingenuous and often outright false narratives designed to further radicalise the listener

The Hermitcraft server is the textbook example of how an online server SHOULD be managed. Regardless of online game. I don't play games online BECAUSE it isn't like Hermitcraft, i.e. toxicity and bullying.

I'm currently watching five Hermitcraft members: Mumbo, Grian, Tango, Doc and Zedaph. But if for some reason, all of them suddenly decided to quit Hermitcraft, I would be pretty annoyed, but I also wouldn't just completely give up on the server. Instead, I'd find new Hermits to watch. Impulse, Xisuma, Ren, Pearl, Gem, Etho, or anyone else. I will only stop watching Hermitcraft when the last Hermit gives up completely, which hopefully won't happen for a very long time.

1.10 is not the worst upate at all Strays are free slowness arrows early game Polar bears drop fish on death so if you by any chance run out of food you can just kill one to get fish Husks are great for being test dummies as they dont burn in daylight unlike regular zombies and their code can be re-used to make simple custom mele hostile mobs Structure blocks, literally they save so mutch time when making a mega build on creative and structure voids can be used to make it so that when you place a structure, it wont get buried by surrounding blocks as the structure void will replace other blocks in its place with air Bone blocks are good if you have too mutch bonemeal in your inventory Allowed fishing rods to pull items Mobs refuse to walk on magma blocks so you can use them to stop mobs from entering certain parts of your base without walls And thats not even mentioning how useful the stuff became in newer upates

From going from the roleplay DreamSMP where I didn’t really like all the relationships because they didn’t feel real Now I’m in Hermircraft, where I know every Hermit’s name, and the way they all respect and dare I say it, love each other, that’s what I love about it It’s caused my mental health to genuinely boost

Id say the main reason why people love hermitcraft is because hermitcraft is how we've all wanted to play minecraft. With friends, showing off our creativity and making a immersive world with stories and what not. When you look at younger groups like the dream smp or even that realm that you made with you're friends, its just people aganist each other, traveling 1000's of blocks away and grinding to get the best gear and most efficient farms (Which is why your realm doesnt last long btw). But man hermitcraft is so addicting to watch, I really want to watch everyones perspective in every season but I can't help but keep rewatching Grians hermitcraft season 6 and 7 🤣

What I like best on Hermitcraft is they don't blow up bases maliciously (well most of the time). I love looking at builds so I get sad and frustrated if these get blown up just because of a little prank. Also, even if they did blow up another hermit's base by accident, they offer to compensate or help rebuild/clean and I think that should be the standard.

You have really summed up what I admire in Hermitcraft. I am amazed at the wisdom and maturity of all the Hermits and I have been binge watching past seasons to get to know the people behind the blocky figures. They are all so individual and wholesome and kind. I am in my 60s and I recognize goodness.

Very thorough and concise video, and absolutely spot on. There's no wacky premise to Hermitcraft, no trendy idea it's hinging upon, nothing like that, it's pure, unfiltered, fun Minecraft experience. I think one could enjoy it even if they didn't care that much about Minecraft as a game, because at its core, it doesn't hinge around the game itself, it's a bunch of people collaborating and having fun together, creating really cool things and timeless interactions along the way. Riding a trend like the 100 days in hardcore thing may work wonders in the short term, but it is GUARANTEED to fail in the long run. Meanwhile, Hermitcraft has been extremely consistently popular and beloved for *a decade,* and for all the right reasons. Heck, thanks to its very positive additions, it's more popular than ever. Grian was the single best addition to the server and made Season 6 what it was, same with Season 7, addition of the Proximity Voice chat mod from Season 8 and above made the fun interactions of the hermits 10 times more fun as it was experienced in real-time, the Season 9 crossover thing was pretty nice and brought a lot of new eyes to the server (This was a kind of intentionally short-term popularity boost for the server, on top of its already ever-present consistent popularity, which was amazing. You can add short-term fun things over something that is made to work long-term), so on and so forth. Even though I haven't been actively watching HC since season 7, it is still phenomenal, and I'm very interested to know what they have in store for us next time.....
