I think y’all were misunderstanding the core ideas in every comment you received during the live. E.g someone pointed out the hypocrisy in you defending your reaction by reason of coping but you didn’t give the same grace towards Lyle and Erik who you questioned and labeled as cold. Its okay to be undecided on a case as you said, its not a black and white case, however, I think this whole fiasco could have been avoided by you validating Erik and Lyle’s experiences and accepting that they are SA victims regardless of the crimes they committed. This doesn’t mean you justify their crimes but you can feel bad for them and feel pity for their situation which eventually led to their crimes. You may have not intended this, but the way you were cheering on the prosecution and laughing at Leslie seemed to have rubbed people the wrong way. Especially the prosecutions case was based on a ridiculous statement that males could not be SA victims. You may have not said that directly but by supporting a side that has, you are indirectly saying the same.

You guys are fun to listen to. I agree the movie was uh good, but TOO long. Netflix has a 3-episode (about 45 min/each) documentary called "This Is the Zodiac Speaking." It came out last year and it's really interesting. It takes you from the past to the present. I do recommend it if you haven't seen it yet.

Late to the party. We may have gone from horse and buggy to the moon in less than a hundred but honestly how much invocation has there been to the casual observer to the horse buggy. The one on our farm is not that different from the ones my grandfather used. And not that different from ancient Rome.. Milling grain didn't change much over the years.brewing beer, making wine or olive oil is still recognizable. Don't get me started on how little our tech for giving birth is. Yes, we have amazing NICU and surgeries but you also still have women giving birth at home or in my mom's case in a taxi. We still do fighting schools to study techniques that have not changed in millenia. For me, the whole civilization that seems both so much more technically advanced than we are & also in their own controlled dark ages when it comes to machines is interesting. I accept (from reading some of the books) that they have levels of hypocrisy .

**Syntell This movie is based on a book by author Gillian Flynn of the same name, it's worth a read. She tends to write about psycopathy in women. She wrote two more books: Sharp Objects and Dark Places. I HIGHLY advise watching the HBO series adapted from Sharp Objects. It has similar vibes. If you react to that, I'M THERE!!! Then Dark Places was made into a movie, which is good but doesn't have the same punch. Both show and movie have A list actors in them too. I don't think the author has written any other full books since these. But if you want an intense read... her stuff is wild!

16:26 fun fact, the “DELTA” guys in this scene are actual active duty US Navy SEALs that were in Texas at the Air Force base at the time the location was being scouted . The director saw them and asked if they could be in a scene or two and down the road the DOD permissions they got to be in this scene and the famous border scene. They also were jsut told to act and react as they would , specifically individually directed as the others were to get even more realistic in the border scene specifically /tactically. They called themselves DELTA guys referring to the Army’s Tier 1 Special Operations Group for a bit of indiscretion and banter between the 2 Top SOCOM Forces.

Ncuti deserves better than these episodes, hopefully he gets it in his 2nd season. The first woman and the first Black Doctor(s) both let down by the writing. Ya'll should really start Peter Capaldi's Doctor, I love his seasons and I prefer an older, crankier, darker Doctor.

This has one of my favorite performances of Jake Gyllenhaal. I think he was extraordinarily good in this AND Prisoners. And it's only topped (in my book) by his performance in Nightcrawler (2014). End Of Watch (2012) was also very good but I think Michael Peña stole that movie. 😅

@chanceneck8072 12 сағат бұрын
Really? Probably because it happens in the middle of the day, isn't it? And the ruthlessness of the killer. It seems as if he's just looking for excuses to finally kill them, also the mental torture....

@justice_for_peanut Ah ok. Right. I think they dubbed that, too for the German dub, which I am used to. 😅 It can have negative effects. One other example I know of includes one certain scene with Jacom Trembley in the film "Room" but I don't wanna get into details in case you haven't seen that film yet. It's also a scream, that sounds SO lame in the German dub by comparison. Usually I LOVE German dubs and I often like to advertise for them because they can actually be better than the original, too. But I also wanna be as objective as I can be....
@chanceneck8072
@chanceneck8072 11 сағат бұрын
But before I talk bs, I'm actually not 100% sure IF they really dubbed that moment in the German dub .😅 It's been a while since I've seen that film but I have it on my hard drive. I just know it for sure with my Room example and I just remembered when you mentioned that moment with the screams, that it was something, I found noticeably disturbing, too.

I must say though 30:20 THIS is the most bone chilling moment to ME 🫢🥶 And I would argue (I actually thought about this a lot ever since I saw this film for the first time [which was when it came out]) maybe the most brilliant purposeful use of silence in cinematic history.....

5:30 Vincent is describing synysthesia, something we all experience, though not to this extreme. When you see a colour and describe it as "cheerful" or "warm". When you hear music and it takes you away, or you feel like you are at sea (British people may know "Sailing By", which still introduces the Shipping Forecast). That's synysthesia. Many people see colours in music. Assign qualities like "lonely" or "unusual" to numbers. Vincent "heard" colours, he experienced colour with more than the purely visual sense

Dang, why is my response censored? 🤨 I JUST commented what my favorite Fincher film is and that he's my favorite director. And I told the initial commentor that it's not weird at all. What's the issue here? I also just posted 2 other comments/replies that DIDN'T get censored! They're still here. And I didn't comment anywhere else in the mean time. So, what is this tomfoolery here? It must be this channel's (/KZbin's) fault but I also did use NO swear words whatsoever. It's so ridiculous, I keep getting censored every time, I'm about to start interesting conversations about the things I love.....

I'm loving this series and was glad I went in cold without knowing this twist! One thing you missed which is something I love about Sterling K Brown and that's how he can convey things with subtlety and if you reawtch the first scene, he's in bed, staring at the ceiling and then you see he's touching the pillow next to him as he looks at it, which immediately conveyed to me that his wife was dead. Just by his face and eyes. Also, I love that they explained why his son reading that book affected him so much too, as it's what his wife used to choose his name. Oh and Sterling K Brown got an Oscar nomination for American Fiction! Christian Leytner was code for the President being dead. The tablet was the project. I thought the project was made pretty clear by the end of this ep.
