Hey bro you must visit the new Automatic metro in Thessaloniki Greece! On the 30th of this November metro goes to KalaMaria with 5 new stations! 🎉 Have you consider to visit it? 😊

The Northbound Northern Line platform opened in 1900 but the Southbound platform opened in 1996. This is because the concourse you see at 3:46 is where the original Northern Line Southbound platforms were (which was opened in 1900, closed in 1996). It was moved before the Jubilee Line came along to increase capacity, as there'd be more people transferring to and from the Jubilee line.

That cleaner either fell off the stairs (you didn't check?) or was taking a nap. But at least the station got cleaned. 😋😛🤪 .... I suspect.

He was clearly taking a nap! I left the station for fifteen minutes looking for a supermarket to no avail, and he was still sitting on the stairs when I returned... 💤

Slightly less deplorable station than all the others in Rome. But with a stunningly frustrating and illogical design of an elevator. You end up on o small pedestrian island cut out in the middle of a busy road. So now located in the middle of two roads with car traffic, from where you can reach only the mezzanine to be stuck there as there are no escalators or (still missing at 6:45?) elavators to get to the platforms. Brilliant accessability design. 🤐🤨Luckily a nicely decorated train cheered us up at 6:40.

I guess the other elevator that was out of order (6:45) leads to the surface somewhere within the main entrance building (I preferred to take the other entrance because you have a better view of the building from there). Apparently the elevators at the station are working again now: www.odisseaquotidiana.com/2024/11/ascensori-cinecitta-completamento-lavori-impianti-traslazione-linea-a.html

Or Halloween Subway station.

Fun fact: originally line 2 and 3 would be parallel stations at the same level and share part of the tunnel. But as line 3 changed in direction and terminus it no longer shared the tunnel with line 2 but had to pass under it. So the level of line 3 was lowered by 1.6 metres. Hence the strange high vault.
@MetroCheck6 күн бұрын
Escalators would be nice for the passages between the two platforms. 😋

@MetroCheck Paris - the older network - is not known for its escalators or elevators. In contrast with London Underground where many more of the older stations have escalators.
