Sound is normal i would say, nothing special but also far from painful. Just a normal engine sound. If you like some sound buy a i6 instead.

Man, my family just parted ways with our Giulietta QV, this engine was the star of the show. the power it has for a 4 cyl... man, i'm sad we don't own the car anymore, but a Stelvio replaced it. I'm looking at a 939 Spider rn with the 2.4 jtdm engine, and i think i'll go for it. this time i'll get the passion and the experience from a stunning spider, rather than pure driving, which is okay.

Fully stock, with the LCI model the exhaust note is a lot more sporty and it has a flap.

I’m on my 2nd E86 Z4 after my first was involved in a “hit and run” earlier this year. The 1st was a manual but my 2nd is auto/paddle shift. It’s taking getting used to going from manual to auto, but, in fairness, it’s still a fantastic car to drive.

@@drivingpassioncars They are actually not great on fuel, low 20mpg local driving and high 20's on a run, about the same as the 3.2 V6, doesn't bother me though, lovely thing to drive.

@@DerCem6789 2011 models with the N55 engine have the DCT, there were some rare 2009 N54 DCT's, most were equipped with the 6-speed ZF gearbox. When you compare the DCT (7 gears) with the ZF 8-speed the DCT is more sporty. It isn't so much in the shift times but the overal feel. Both are really good transmissions, remember that they were both constructed with a different character in mind. The DCT was originally built for the M3 as the ZF 8-speed was built to host a very varying range of models of all brands. The 8-speed is more fuel efficient and fits a wider range of consumer needs and that is the reason it is one of the most used automatic transmissions nowadays.

Hello,just two questions: - in which gear is top speed allowed? I guess that 7th or 8th gears actually work as an overdrive, just to have better fuel consumption, so do you possibly reach top speed in 6th gear ? - does this gearbox automatically upshift when revving the engine to red line ? I mean,when revving 2nd gear to the red line is there an automatic upshift to 3rd gear ? Thanks for sharing and for any info.

Hello, this is the 6-speed gearbox, top speed is reached in the 5th gear, the 6th gear is for a better fuel consumption. The Switchtronic gearbox does not shift automatically at the red line as the normal BMW models do.

I did own a 135i convertible, manual. That was until the driver at fault demolished my car. But that BMW kept me alive. It did its job. I do miss that car. Top down, perfectly warm day, charging up mountain roads; few things can beat that.

@@drivingpassioncars Thank you for the kind words. I eventually got it replaced with a 2013 135is! haha. It is also a convertible, 6 speed manual. I couldn't believe I found it. But the 135i is a very good car. I didn't know this about the car, but awhen I got impacted from the rear, a sensor detected the hit and automatically shut off the engine, which turned off the fuel pump. The point of impact on the frame bent nearly 90 degrees, but held. It was a large SUV that hit me from behind (driver was heads down on her cell phone). The fuel tank did not rupture. And the rear head rests popped up in the event of a rollover. The 135i is a great vehicle. Fun to drive and it will do its best to keep you safe. Stay safe!

N63 is the twin turbo 4.4l engine. E63/E64 is the Coupé or Convertible model of the 6 series. The successor which has the N63 engine is the F12/F13 model.
