@@pascalpandermaat212 I am interested in a 2011 E93 but which automatic transmission does it have? And how does this transmission compare to today's ZF 8-speed automatic transmissions?

@@DerCem6789 2011 models with the N55 engine have the DCT, there were some rare 2009 N54 DCT's, most were equipped with the 6-speed ZF gearbox. When you compare the DCT (7 gears) with the ZF 8-speed the DCT is more sporty. It isn't so much in the shift times but the overal feel. Both are really good transmissions, remember that they were both constructed with a different character in mind. The DCT was originally built for the M3 as the ZF 8-speed was built to host a very varying range of models of all brands. The 8-speed is more fuel efficient and fits a wider range of consumer needs and that is the reason it is one of the most used automatic transmissions nowadays.
