We love the Blue Ridge Parkway and usually go every year in October when the leaves are changing. We were in one of the Welcome Centers near Waynesville, NC and a huge SUV type vehicle as in the parking lot. It was the biggest thing I have ever seen. I was the size of a large garbage truck with giant tires, windows, ladder and looked amazing (and expensive) this Safari Extreme is the closest vehicle to what we saw. Strange the one in the parking lot didn't have a name on it. I think the grill had a Mercedes emblem. One of these would be so much fun for cross country trips and off-road camping. I'm sure they cost more than my house, so owning one is just a dream.

My go fast camper is up and ready in less than a minute compared to my T3 ( and the T4 that I sold) that takes a couple of minutes more (I am old and move slow lols) to set up. In certain situations, it is easier to use the T3 if you need to be using your vehicle to run for errands or just wanna drive around to see places without the hassle of taking it down and popping it up every time! Gazelles are a game changer!

Can you connect it to your truck bed topper or tailgate of your suv?

What happens when you've run down the accessory battery, you start the engine, and the relay closes? With the difference in voltage and almost no resistance, it seems like the fuses will pop in an instant. Edit: OK, you *kinda* addressed this in a comment (though it isnt pinned on my end). Though you didn't address my concern about the fuses.

What type of battery is your starter battery and your aux battery. I've got the makings of a pretty convoluted extra battery setup that I was thinking about implementing. I wish I had a larger inverter, but for now I'll use what I have. A 600w pure sine wave inverter, a 12V smart charger and 4 mini LiFePO4 deep cycle batteries. I'm not doing any off roading I just want to have the ability to charge cordless tool batteries and run some lighting around the bed of my truck for working past sundown. The inverter can handle the cordless tool battery chargers as well as the smart charger as needed, the LiFePO4 battery bank will handle lighting duties. I've got some LED off road lights that I mounted to heavy duty magnets and some white rock lights that I want to mount to PVC tubing on my square tubing rack so I can pivot them in towards the bed or out for more work lighting at the back and sides. At least that's the best idea I could come up with to allow adjusting the rock lights. The cleanest would be to internally wire the lights adjust mount them on the underside of the square tubing, but the back section of the rack is removable not hinged, so that messes that up and the tailgate area is definitely someplace I want lighting. I upgraded the 3rd brake light/cargo light to LED and moved it to the rack itself for better visibility and the cargo light is super bright now too, but that runs off the starter battery

Can I do this for a party bus, but instead of 1 battery, I'll go with 2 batteries?

If possible, please start selling all products you mentioned in this/similar builts as a package on ebay. This will help people save on shipping cost of multiple items plus duties. Specially for people residing outside US. Thank you.

Watched this a few years ago but rewatched it as a refresher. Agree, try it at least once at home to familiarize yourself with the process. Learning on the trail is not fun especially if you forget one of the essential tools. As a personal note I find it handy to have a third tire spoon, a lesson learned from experience. Keep your finger tips away from pinch points too. Thanks for sharing.

for my usage it is two batteries are in the bed box. so the synod it would be a toggle switch not by key. but i still will not jump start unknown car/truck motors. as what is wrong with there system to begin with. and on top of the bed box. i have a solar panel. not a big one. just to trickle charge the battery's while not in use.

your lugs need to be hydraulic crimped soled copper. can even make your own from copper pipe. but yes liquid tape and shrink wrap. and where needed run your power cords through rubber or sny hose. for protection.

Here is a left field idea, could you have the fridge slide over the folded front seats in the event that you want to sleep inside, instead of out the back and have a bear (in my case a hyena) chew your fridge?

Just picked up a Toyota Land Cruiser 1995 (triple locked)with 225k on the original motor. I know I'm going to drop a roll of $100 bills in it but it will be much better than a boat. Such a capable vehicle. I grew up with my late grandfather's FJ40 and FJ55. I eventually bought the 1971 FJ55 wagon from him. This is where the addiction began.

If you used a voltage sensitive relay instead of a ignition switch relay, would that eliminate the necessity of getting into your ignition switch?

I just ran this route; thank you for a very clear route. Many of the camping spots marked in the free route were very helpful in finding camping during the trip. I would only add a side trip to Red Cone Trail, which is Southeast of Silverthorne, CO. If you are in a midsize truck or smaller, do not take any trailers on that trail due to some very tight parts in the trees.

OR the battery isolator relay somehow disconect the aux battery from the continious charging? Please let me know because i want to install the same stuff to my dmax
