yes, you can find different spots for your Soul (Self), your Oversoul (Higher Self), and so on, to connect more easily with orientation from this levels of yourself.

I like to call it Essence, Larger Self, to be more neutral, for people less attuned with religions and spirituality, and a more scientific term

in my very first brainspotting session, my therapist fell asleep in minutes. I was very distracted and uncomfortable and didnt know what to do. I emailed her after the session and asked if she was okay and if we should meet at a different time because she was very tired and not really concious through my entire session, she said she was not tired, she was feeling my processing, and I should find a new therapist and that I'm not good for her. I felt so hurt and confused. I didnt mean to upset her and I feel so delinquent if I really had such an effect on her. I had not even gotten to any intense points of brainspotting before she was nodding off and asleep. so im not sure how she was feeling my processing when I dont feel like much processing was happening, especially because she fell asleep so quickly and there was no accurate spot for me to be focused on.. im so confused

Helen, I am very sorry to hear this happened to you. I want to reassure you that you have done nothing wrong and that given what you are sharing you want to find yourself another Brainspotting therapist. Please do not give up on Brainspotting because of this experience. It sounds like your therapist was experiencing what this video is about. We try to teach this in our trainings and highly recommend therapists do their own work to beware of this so that they do not impact the client's processing.

Mahalo from Maui, I’m refreshing re brain spotting cos I’m just about to take clients who survived the Lahaina fires. I just found your channel and every post is invaluable and inspiring. This one is fascinating, as I’ve been using the power of intention in my life, and in my practice for the past couple of years. I’ve also found dr joe Dispenza meditations to be very useful for deepening my mindfulness practice and for intention setting and co creating. Mahalo and namaste❤🙏🏼

Holy cow! It's wonderful listening to David Grand and he gets it... the world is a ephemeral, amorphous and good luck understanding it. Unless you learn to let go and recognize that where you are is just fine. Whatever it is. And the more you try to be some place you want to be probably the less likely it is that you're going to end up there.. you're not going to understand therapy and how to work with people. This woman is so unbelievably rigid, and not to mention she brings her own personal stuff into these videos which I really don't want to hear and I think it's unprofessional, but she really does not get it. She's trying so hard to make the universe into a math problem that ends with a certain number. Lady, this is beyond calculus. As he said this is quantum physics and if you don't learn to let go you'll never ever ever get this. Thanks to David grand for participating in this I found it extremely helpful. And he says exactly what I know. You are where you are when you were supposed to be there and when you're not you'll move on. But what you do need is a good co-pilot. And I think that's what a good therapist does.

Four years after starting this type of therapy, my anxiety and PTSD are worse. It retraumatized me, and I would not recommend it to anyone. Not EMDR either, as that was even worse.

Synchronicity- I just watched a video of Michael Talbot discussing the holographic brain and the research around this concept… then I chose to watch this video… first time viewing. The Talbot video helped me better understand Dr. Grand’s discussion here about the Neuroexperiential Model. I started Brainspotting by experiencing it’s effectiveness. I trained in Brainspotting to share it with others. Having heard Dr. Grand’s explanation of the Neuroexperiential Model here, I think I now understand Brainspotting. That understanding encompasses the frame(s) of all that makes ‘me’. It reinforces that my ‘stumbling upon’ Dr. Grand’s work is the result of attunement to the frame that connects us all. M’sit no’kmaq- we are all related.

Mmm but I can 'enter' my trauma in every eye position (or even with closed eyes) Do I miss the point? Or is this just a technique for people that find it difficult to 'enter' their trauma or don't know how to find it?

Vincent, Brainspots can be used to reprocess the trauma to release distress in the brain & body. Entering into traumas is one step in the process.

Joe, Brainspotting helps decrease the emotional charge of the memory. Inside your brain and body would reorganize your thoughts and feelings about what happened. This brings healing and relief of symptoms.

So if you want to be healthy (or wealthy, or whatever) you should pay attention to where your eyes go when you're imagining being healthy? Then every time you try to get into the state of being healthy so that you can manifest good health, you make sure your eyes are looking in that direction which will help you feel it more strongly.
@cherielindberg
@cherielindberg 4 жыл бұрын
kuurt The most important piece here is to have a felt sense in your body of feeling healthy, happy, wealthy. It is the physiological state we are trying to imprint in the body. Once you feel it in your body look where your eyes are. This is a sense can strengthen the feeling in the body. Good luck 🍀

Is it bad to go into an exact environment where I get trauma reactions or triggers and go into brainspotting in that location?
@cherielindberg
@cherielindberg 4 жыл бұрын
John, In Brainspotting we often say trauma becomes trauma because we went through it alone. If you are going to go into a place that triggers you on a Brainspot, I would recommend you do that with an attuned Brainspotting counselor.

Cherie Lindberg I mean like a restaurant or school classroom environment with a therapist and get triggered there then go into the brainspotting right there with the therapist

john scott, I have had clients do this to get better access to the issue they want to clear. Nothing bad about it. If your intuition is drawing you to do this and you have an attuned therapist with you, experiment and see if this helps you.

Travis Costanza talk therapy doesn’t really get at the root of the problem, my mindset is solid but the unthinking brain deep in the brain still remembers so it has reactions but you won’t know why. This fixes the reactions
