Fil suffers from the same disappointment many of us do in the digital age. The music is losing(has lost) its authenticity.

Personally I'm not a fan of those headset mics and I used to use one. The first thing I notice is singer are always adjusting them. Second thing the vocal sounds too perfect on those high parts and he's not touching the mic at all like he is when he's singing lower register. Is likely you are correct.

Excellent, well presented and spoken, when you have an ego like Ken tamplin presents, there's no way he will admit anything but positive, I also liked it when you said be honest and 'use it as a tool' to educate on how the voice changes over the years, BTW, are you related to Chris Evans? 😊

love how Ken sounds like he's talking in a garbage can in his reaction video. two words, Ken, "add some room treatments when you record." sounds like an amateur.

"For all the lip synch accusers out there" , and then he just belts out a lower key note. I'm definitely not a singer, but I backed up the video and listened to him do that twice. At that key and note level, I kicked it out almost identical and for longer. There was nothing impressive in his 'example' of proof for all ye naysayers. He should have gone into the refrain from that live song where he was accused of lip synching it. What he did is really embarrassing as he got nowhere near that range so he proved nothing.

Pitch correction is for the listener. Who cares if you can sing or not, If I have to listen, correct that shit:) Developing your voice is a hobby, personal gratification...
@donpardo251011 күн бұрын
@batmandeltaforce pitch correction is not for the listener, it's for the fragile ego of a mediocre talent. A real talent won't use autotune and will own an occasional flat note. They just move on.

Quantum leap forward from these guy's. Dan Flitcroft has an awesome voice. They have pulled off slow melodies and then crank into heaviness. Well done.

Both Elton John and Billy Joel have both dropped the key in which they sing. No biggie. Hiding it and playing it off, is a very big biggie and should get you shoved off the stage.

Thank you so much for this reaction and analyzing. I appreciate your honesty and integrity. It seems the more AI gets into music, the less music there will be. I watch FIL and his analysis videos, and the proof is in the data, not the singing. I played orchestral clarinet and oboe, and I think it will be a sad day indeed when classical music becomes obsolete and woodwinds can be put on a backing track, and we can't tell the difference between whether the clarinet is just miming the solo. Again, my thanks to you and Fil for keeping it real and keeping the industry honest. Cheers.

Sadly, this is the state of affairs. The controversy over Taylor Swift’s syncing her whole show night after night created essentially zero shows that people don’t care. They want and *experience* and are willing to take studio vocals so that it perfectly merges their mental memory with the multimedia experience. Plastic music for a plastic world.

I don't care one bit how good a vocal coach Ken might be. The level of dishonesty and how he's doubling down on it after the fact should be felt in his business.

I'm not a fan of Tamplin, always thought he was too full of himself, but I don't know why people are making such a big deal out of this. There are literally TONS of bands out there that " cheat " live. Some really big bands use vocal effects to cover up and enhance aging singer's sound. Judas Priest has been saturating Rob for years and it sounds incredible. Def Leppard does it as well. Backing tracks and all that, as long as the show is good, what does it really matter? I think this is being blown way out of reality here.

Jiminy Cricket’s been serenading audiences with show-stoppers since 1940. I don’t see why it’s such a stretch to believe he nailed those vocals in Templin’s pocket; talent like that doesn’t chirp away overnight.

The live part is always slightly off-key and in some of the aepeggio notes very off key. The not live part is absolutely pitch-perfect and beyond this singers capabilities to achieve - his intonation isn't that great.

Well, that album sounds great, authentic, creative and there is some certain, hard to describe quality to it, almost like from another planet. It is so much better than 90% of the other Metal stuff that is released nowadays, says a lot about bands and musicians. I know, you all hate this, but it's the truth: There is way too much mediocre songwriting out there, that is only disguised by massive sound production.

I'm a cousin to Johnny Cash and I personally don't think the man can sing. His CD should be used as frisbees in my opinion. Which I'm allowed to have. So when Ken came on, I don't call that singing, I call that screaming. Which was scary to say the least. This put Ken in a ring of fire! His own body and eye movements show he's not telling the truth. People have a right to not like someone's music, voice, etc. I find this video and Fil's WOP video as helpful insight into the vocal world. Facts are facts. Truth is truth. Lies are lies. Opinions are opinions. The real problem here is that Ken got caught using his past vocals at a current live show. The proof is the pitch monitoring only gives facts of a fact, truth of a event.

I’m comprehensively impressed and saddened by your offering of 1,000,000,000 percent accurate analysis of this plague on society. I wish cats like you and Fil didn’t have to exist to be honest. But god love ya, you are absolutely doing a service in exposing this practice. Whatever backlash you guys endure is worth it, because you are highlighting a righteous contention. The bottom line (for me) is that cheating is cheating. It’s fraud. And when is fraud ever a good thing. I weighed in on this shameful epidemic in my song BRING IT LIKE ZEPPELIN. It was mainly written as a tribute to the great Eddie Trunk who has been a champion for this cause for years. I think his legacy will be sustained because he called out everyone, especially people he is close to with his rather impressive platform. He did it/does it because he knows it’s wrong. Talk about backlash!! But to his credit, and yours, and Fil’s, someone MUST stand up to this UNNECESSARY deception tactic. Do we really want to live in a fake as F world? A.I. is sadly here to stay, and will expedite the decline of whatever humanity remains. But blokes who cheat now deserve to be unveiled. A live performance should be an ACCOMPLISHMENT, because it freaking HARD to do. The pursuit of perfection is a fool’s errand. Bless you. And KEEP IT UP!

Can someone please do a lesson on how to set up, rehearse, and execute live performance with backing tracks. Like, there is a skill in pulling that off convincingly.
