@@zxtuner4lyfe Yo man! How was it 15 yrs ago? Im sure there was a lot more bushwhacking and a lot less trash. With the heavy rains earlier in the year, I'm sure this place is washed out and has changed significantly. Was very fortunate to be a part of a great crew which made the experience so much more fun. ALWAYS pick the right people to go with esp on an excursion like this-- I'm sure you already know that. Those cold November nights gifted me nerve damage to the big toes but I recovered. No snakes, no cats, no bears, NO PEOPLE for 4 days! Thanks for watching 🤙🏽

@etnikgrounds it actually appears more overgrown when I walked down a mile the other day. When I went it was awesome. Would live to do it again! We did see some bears but we were prepared. Thanks for the reply. Take care.

Very nice video guys. You guys did the whole 14.5 miles from Frenchman's flat to the Piru lake? How long did this trek take? Do you need a permit to camp overnight on this trek? I heard it is really beautiful to do this trek. Any difficulties? thx

in the early 70's that trip from Lyon's Camp over the rocks and onto Piedra Blanca and Twin Forks was glorious. The creek was heavily forested and above Twin Forks it was so loaded with native rainbows you hardly needed to pack in food. Now 50 years later I can see and I hear that fires and climate change have wiped out most of the cover needed for a good trout fishery. :-(

@outdoor existential HAHA!!! I still don’t get it, they looked the part(had gear/fish poles) but certainly did NOT play the part. Most fisherman are genuine outdoorsman and follow/enforce/abide by the “outdoor code” but these 2 were lil off when they began pitching their tents-nonchalantly, 1 even popped some sort of pill whilst laying his footprint-50 ft away from a group of 6. Really, really strange!

This place has some of the most unpredictable winds I’ve ever experienced. 1 minute no breeze, 2nd minute wind picks up 3-5 mph, 3rd minute there’s 40mph gusts blowing and you’re running to the tent to prevent it from catching flight!!!! 🥂can’t wait to explore Canada 🤙🏽

Wow! Beautiful! Good job! I am hoping you can give me some advice on my Hindu rope plant. I see plenty of new growth, but the leaves are beginning to wrinkle and wither and others are yellowing. Using a water reader tool the edges are dry but the center is moist. I do not know if I have over or under watered. I am afraid to do either, LOL I really don’t want my plants to die, can you help?
@etnikgrounds
@etnikgrounds 6 жыл бұрын
@tammy ulrich hello there! So from what you described, your HR may be shedding leaves for new growth OR you're watering too much OR if you have recently transplanted the HR in a bigger pot then the plant is shedding leaves for new growth If your plant is old and has been in one pot for several years, perhaps you need to remove plant from pot and shake the dirt off (or root prune if It's root-bound) your HR and use new potting mix -- I use potting soil and it does fine-- the plant is resilient I water when the plant is showing new growth and frequently in hotter temps and ONLY when the plant is dry to the touch, the plant likes to stay dry than wet. Is your HR indoor/outdoor? Is your plant potted in plastic/clay pot? Is it hanging? How often do you water? do you fertilize with bone meal or blood meal and if so, how often?
@1tammylyn
@1tammylyn 6 жыл бұрын
etnikgrounds hi! Thank You for replying 😊. I transplanted it last year and was concerned the pot was to big but it weathered an out of town move ok, ( I thought) I have it in a south facing window now and wondered if the yellowing was from too much sun so I started closing the curtains after about four or five hours of light, now it seems more leaves than not are shrivelling. It is in ceramic pot that has drainage and also has about 3 inches of gravel. I was thinking I will stop watering completely in case it’s from over water. I have had this planned for about five years.

@tammy ulrich So I transplanted my Hindu rope from a 3qt pot to a 10qt, the plant showed no growth and was stagnant for approx 6 months until hot humid temps hit so cal and has since been thriving. My rope only receives bright indirect light and some late afternoon sun in the summers and it's fine, leaves will burn in direct light and leaves will pucker or crinkle when the plant is thirsty, (HR is a lot like plumeria) keep your HR out of direct sunlight but feel free to put it outside in really bright indirect light. I'd refrain from watering until you can ascertain that the plant is dry, I usually hold my pot and can determine the need for water according to weight, (i do the same with my staghorn fern wrapped in a moss ball) also look into changing potting medium and fertilizing, fill with potting soil if u wanna water every 2 weeks or straight cactus mix if you wanna water every other day or mix half&half and water every 2-4 days I'm in zone 9 L.A. wbu? My plant survived 35 degree weather in winter '18 and 113+ degrees in summer '17
